Just launched Errorception http://errorception.com/ yesterday. Errorception is a error tracking service which catches and reports in end-users' browsers as they happen. I built Errorception since I couldn't didn't find any error reporting system that (a) didn't rewrite my JS, (b) didn't modify the browser runtime by overriding common functions, and (c) had a zero performance cost, especially with regards to blocking script tags. Would love your thoughts. Site: http://errorception.com/

This app is a graphical programming environment for kids to learn coding by creating animations. Although we released it to the app store it's still more of a beta version and we would love to solicit feedback from HNers with iPads. To me, programming is something that kids could really enjoy but the obstacles in their way (getting a programming environment, publishing their code, learning syntax) make the barriers to entry unnecessarily high. We're hoping this will be a good first step in overcoming some of that. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/daisy-the-dinosaur/id490514278?ls=1&mt=8…

This was more of a sandbox to play with Raphael and Flot than anything else but I think there are some interesting statistics in there. It'd be awesome to do this over time but I really don't have the spare time required.

I started to track my expenses on excel sheets earlier this year. It was interesting to see how much I spent casually on just another hangout with friends or on education. Excel sheets are painful, at least for me. So I built this with my friend: (it's just MVP) http://accountant.besperk.com Edit: Coming up next: > Mobile site and apps asap. > Graphs and reports > SSL > Custom Alerts (when you cross a certain limit, that you define, for certain tag) > Pre populated tags. Tech used: > Rails > on Heroku My co-founder is offline will ask him to add more details on…

I put this together since I find myself switching away from the terminal to see if anything new popped up in HN. There might be similar ones out there, didn't bother looking. It was a quick experiment, which might end up with a few more features.

We've been hard at work creating a new domain registrar and now we want some feedback to help us figure out where to go from here! The first 100 users to signup using this URL will get 1 free domain Credit: https://www.badger.com/#register/hackernews --- Please please please give us feedback! --- P.S. We only support .com and .net at the moment but we'll be adding about a dozen more extensions in the next couple of weeks.

One year ago, I downloaded the news.arc code and decided that I would teach myself programming by building a better aggregator. At that time, I had some rudimentary HTML knowledge, and little FORTRAN under my belt. I knew that I wanted an aggregator that could support a wide range of submissions, and one that could scale without losing quality for the user. Hubski is what I have to show for my time and effort. The easiest way to describe Hubski is to say that it uses a commenting system akin to HN or Reddit, but uses a sharing scheme like Twitter. You have a personal feed comprised of the…

After seeing the ReadWriteWeb article on findhisporn.com (http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/find_his_porn_evil_website_of_the_week.php), my instant reaction was to build something to counter that. I spent the weekend building the app, but had to wait another week to get my payment system set up. The site is http://www.hideyourporn.net/ (completely safe for work site) as well as a more generic http://www.personallocker.net/ which is what the app is branded at. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated - just keep in mind - HN is obviously not my target audience.

I've been a hypnotherapist for the past five years, doing fairly well for this small niche, but since day one I've had ambitions of expanding beyond the borders of my city. The only question was how to do it without a corresponding increase in staff (...and capital, and headaches). So I thought up Hypnotizr: http://www.hypnotizr.com Hypnotizr provides online hypnosis sessions by sequencing together snippets that are recorded in advance. It's an inexpensive way to deliver well-made recordings that are also customized to individual clients' needs. With good voice control and a little…

http://www.GiftLizard.com Core idea: Describe the person you're trying to buy gifts for and it matches gifts based on those descriptions. How it works: items are tagged in many categories from descriptive, relationships (dad), jobs, hobbies, interests, personalities, places (garden). Items that match any tag show up, the more tags an item matches, the higher up it shows. Some notes: Products are hand selected and manually added to the site. The goal is interesting gifts and gift discovery. If you know exactly what you want to buy, the traditional hierarchical search works just fine. There…

Today's project: This is a web page that allows you to create a QR code that you can print out and put somewhere in your house. When someone with an iOS device scans it, it will automatically download a wireless profile to their device to auto-connect to your wireless network (SSID & key automatically inserted). If you enable geofencing and someone gets a hold of the QR code or URL that it links to, it won't work unless their browser reports their location within 1/2 mile of the original location where you created the QR code. http://www.getonmywifi.com (Yes, you will be trusting me with…

Hey HN, I wanted to share with you what I've been working on for the past few months – the Splunk Developer Platform[1]. We released our Python SDK[2] back in August, but just last week we released our Java[3] and JavaScript[4] ones, and the JS SDK was the one I've been working on. It was a great learning experience for me – first real foray into JavaScript and Node (the SDK works in both the browser and Node), and was a lot of fun to try different things out releasing it. I ended up building on a couple of open source libraries (and contributing back). We are building out Splunk's developer…

Over the last year, me and my co-founder have been working on a startup that provides a marketplace for what we call "self-guided tour itineraries". The best way to understand it is to have a look, here is an example: http://www.unanchor.com/itinerary/view/149 We just did our public launch today - it would be great to get your feedback on it. Be blunt, we can handle it :)

Your Early Nerd Score is a measure of how much of an early adopter you are. Low user-ids have always been a key piece of geek cred. Your score is just your percentile for each service, note that it may change over time as our data set grows. Who made Early Nerd This is a quick hack by pkamali (@peeter on Twitter) and feldmanr (@ronfeldman on Twitter).

For CodeSprint 2, we decided to introduce Real World Problems: programming problems that our CodeSprint companies face in real life. Real World Problems are messy, complicated, and infinitely variable. They require API calls, use of an arbitrary number of libraries, and a file structure that contains more than a single file upload. In short: Our existing code checking architecture is mostly useless. So we're writing a new one. Please help us test it. beta.interviewstreet.com

Hi, looking for your feedback on my first public project. The Idea: Every lurepet (big picture) that you see on the site has some "genes" and is drawn according to them. After the best lurepets are selected they can be bred to make children looking like their parents. This is going to be repeated to create more and more beautiful lurepets. And of course the reason to vote is to save the future humanity that is attacked by evil robots which has the only flaw - insane obsession with lurepets :) Implementation: The drawing logic which is 99% of all the logic, is written in Clojure. I'm very…

Over breakfast, I thought about how to circumvent SOPA (as I understand it). Key problem: SOPA allows the government to tell DNS servers to stop linking certain website addresses to their IPs. Abstract Solution: Remove the need for DNS servers in the majority of cases. Idea 1: Have a list of IP addresses stored in each browser so they don't have to be resolved. Just have an associative array somewhere that contains a bunch of really popular websites. Every time the browser auto upgrades, it updates and expands its list of IPs. This could be done as a plugin for most modern browsers. Idea 2:…
