I have been a devoted vim user for almost 3 decades and frankly it has served me well! Yes I do get tempted to try out the next best thing (though Zed has some serious names so am even more tempted). But frankly something about staying in the terminal that I am just too used to and dont want to change. Though I never bothered updating the vimrc often (did 4 "major" updates in those years) I found myself wanting to update my vimrc for vimspector. This time instead of again trying to understand vimscript and reading the various docs, I let claude code on it and dang it has been a fun journey…

It even helped me organize my vim configs. Figured Id share it. Nothing fancy but now atleast I am not afraid of setting up simple vim plugins/macros the way I want without worrying. Let me know what yall think. (Yes at some point i should consider the new toys like Zed but looks like I get to put that off for another couple of years now)!!

Hello guys, I wanted to get your feedback on my recent project : it aims to unify Vim configuration by aggregating some common plugins in order to provide an easy-to-use « package ». I put this together since I find myself switching away from the terminal to see if anything new popped up in HN. There might be similar ones out there, didn't bother looking. It was a quick experiment, which might end up with a few more features.
