In plain words
After 3 years of development, this project is an online viewer for StarCraft: BroodWar replays that renders the game in 2.5D using WebGL and Three.js. Built on OpenBW, an open-source engine recreation, it supports elevated terrain, custom 3D models, plugins, and macros. Viewers can watch replays through a browser with a local server component handling file serving. The tool is designed for StarCraft players and enthusiasts who want an alternative way to view and analyze game replays.

In the maker’s words, at launch
Hello HN, I'm excited to introduce my hobby project https://www.blacksheepwall.tv. It's a unique way to watch StarCraft replays. I have an announcement video on youtube https://youtu.be/pHkWn7E0I_Y You will still need a local server component to serve install files to your browser but otherwise its all hosted online. It's built on top of OpenBW which is an open source re-implementation of the SC1 engine. It features elevated terrain, plugins, macros, 3d models ( user provided ), all of it has been a joy to work on and a great for learning and sharpening the saw. Technologies include three.js / webgl, typescript, and WASM. I'm particularly proud of the plugins and macros that extracted away a lot of the convoluted logic into a modular system where I could work independently on features. If you don't have replays check out cwal.gg or repmastered.app to download a few. Thanks for reading :)

Been having a lot of fun reading an SC2Replay collection through nom parsers, serializing into Arrow files so that pola.rs can read them and perform data analysis with jupyter lab, plotly or interact with SQL operations, etc. Looking for feedback and ideas on what to progress on. For example, "through history, are my timings getting better?". etc. Also would love to have ideas on what libraries to use to perform forecasting.

Hello HN! We’re a small creative studio specializing in real-time 3D experiences. Netlify approached us to design and build an interactive experience to celebrate reaching 5 million developers. Inspired by the classic game Marble Madness, we created a gamified experience where users control a ball through playful, interactive levels. The goal was to blend marketing content with the look and feel of a game to engage users. The app is built with Three.js [1], using our custom render pipeline and shaders, and uses Rapier for physics simulation [2]. The 2D content is overlaid on the WebGL view…
- IMI made a browser-based RTS game2022 · battle-of-flags.com · ▲212
I've posted this game here before, hopefully a repost is fine as the game has changed quite a bit (improved AI, improved mapeditor, much quicker gameplay, etc). Game is based on JavaScript/Canvas and WebSockets. On the browser side the map is pre-rendered (as a background image), just the mobile units/buildings and animations are dynamically rendered. The lobby server is made in node.js, but the game server is C++ for performance reasons (mainly the pathfinding). I found the C++ WebSocket libraries out there to be too difficult to use so I made my own based on the rfc. Overall I…
