An open source generator for complex SDKs
Hi It's Logan (op) and David, we are launching our first open source Python SDK generator with other languages to come :) We built this because we believe that the OpenAPI Generator project is a mess and simply doesn't work for most users (us included). Additionally, proprietary generators miss the mark for complex use cases, and restrict developers from doing what they do best: writing code. What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
Hi It's Logan (op) and David, we are launching our first open source Python SDK generator with other languages to come :) We built this because we believe that the OpenAPI Generator project is a mess and simply doesn't work for most users (us included). Additionally, proprietary generators miss the mark for complex use cases, and restrict developers from doing what they do best: writing code. On top of all that they force you into proprietary configuration layers for many desirable features which increases vendor lock in and pulls you further away from your API spec as the source of truth. So we built Borea, a generator that allows you to generate models, documentation, and handlers from an OpenAPI 3 spec and then implement your own custom code (webhooks, state management, authentication, real time data processing, etc.) by just ignoring those files in the borea.config.json file just like you would a .gitignore file and writing directly to them. That way your custom logic is preserved on regeneration. Please note that this is an early stage product and is not production ready for some cases. We recommend doing extensive testing before deploying your SDK to production. If you like what we have built or just want to show some love, star our repo, if you want to use it, just follow the instructions in the README. We are open to feature requests and contributions on our repo and our Discord server (links on our Github profile)

Hi everyone! I just released the Practical Python Projects book! (https://practicalpython.yasoob.me) I am happy to announce the first version as a release candidate. I have poured a lot of love into writing this book and would love to hear what you guys think. (A limited 100% off and discount coupons at the end) This is not a pure beginner book. The book does assume some background Python knowledge. You need to know the basics like methods, functions, classes, and such. If I use something that is not typically covered in beginner Python books, I will explain it before I use it.…

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…

i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
