Chatterrapp (YC SUS17) beta – Talk to people having similar interests

I am Amit, Co-Founder of Chatterrapp (https://chatterrapp.com). We are building a platform to let users have video chat with others sharing similar interests. Currently we are accepting sign ups for our Beta product. We tried many of existing platforms similar to ours and came across some major flaws like: - annoying chatbots posing as real users - obscene/offensive behaviour - irrelevant matches - no regard for user’s preferences/interests - non-persistent user profiles So we went ahead and surveyed as well as interviewed hundreds of potential users and found a common…

    I built a non-linear UI for ChatGPT2024 · grafychat.com · ▲459

Hi HN, I built this out of frustration of the evergrowing list of AI models and features to try and to fit my workflow. The visual approach clicks for me so i went with it, it provides more freedom and control of the outcome, because predictable results and increased productivity is what I’m after when using conversational AI. The app is packed with features, my most used are prompt library, voice input and text search, narration is useful too. The app is local-first and works right in the browser, no sign up needed and it's absolutely free to try. BYOAK – bring your own API Keys. Let me…

I previously did a Show HN late Dec 2020: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25470672 That was a great experience and in the past year I continued to develop the site to bring it to a level of stability and maturity that I felt necessary for it to have a chance to succeed. Sqwok is all about answering the question: Can we have better open conversations on the internet? I wasn’t satisfied with the existing means of discussing topics such as culture, history, politics, and technology through threaded comments, and was simultaneously impressed with Slack bringing the IRC…

    faces.io – ridiculously simple video chat2014 · ▲40

This is something fun I’ve been hacking on recently: ridiculously simple group chat. Go to http://faces.io and then get your friends to do the same. That’s it! :-D Currently works best in Chrome. It’s definitely beta status at best. Audio can get weird—be ready to mute. ;-) Let me know what you think!

I hope you are doing better today than yesterday. (TLDR in the comments; or enjoy my story :) ) Why: About 11 months ago, I launched my app for the first time on Reddit's r/lonely because I had previously experienced loneliness myself during grad school. I wanted to reach out to people going through similar experiences by providing them with what would’ve helped me in the past. I felt this was an important mission for me and a much more rewarding one than my day job that I quit my job to work on the app full-time. It was necessary because I did not come from a programming background. I…

  • We built ChatterBooth, an anonymous app to talk and chat freelyNov 2025 · chatterbooth.app · ▲12

Hi HN, I’m Billy, co-founder of ChatterBooth. It’s an anonymous app where people can talk or chat freely without judgment. The idea came in 2020 when one of my co-founders wanted to share about his mom’s cancer recovery but couldn’t. It made us realize how hard it is to open up online. Finally, we released the app earlier this year. We’ve also noticed people venting to AI chatbots just to be heard, but AI doesn’t really get you. ChatterBooth is for real human connection, even if it’s anonymous. In the future, if there’s enough traction, we want to reward people as Conversation Starters or…
