CosNFX: Costume Gesture SFX
Control costume sound, visuals, and real props by gesture
What it does
CosNFX turns a Wear OS watch into a costume effects rig. Flick, strike, or clench and it fires a hero-grade sound the instant you move — then make it yours: your sounds, your art, your own recorded gestures, and real lights & smoke in sync. Free on Google Play, with an optional one-time $4.99 Pro unlock.
CosNFX turns a Wear OS watch into a costume effects rig — a gesture fires sound, watch visuals, and real props (WLED, DMX, smoke). Free on Google Play.
A Wear OS watch that fires sound, on-screen effects & real props from a flick of your wrist — and every bit of it is yours to build . Use your own media, record your own gestures, and chain them into combos, so each character in your closet gets its own show. CosNFX reads a natural gesture and fires all three at once, in sync — hands empty, eyes up, fully in character. A hero-grade sound fires from the watch in under a tenth of a second — from the free built-in library or your own audio. Route it to the watch, your phone, or any browser, or play it across several devices at once. Each identity throws a live energy field across the watch face, coloured to the character — plus optional…from cosnfx.app

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
