Crew

Desk pets that show what your AI agents are doing

What it does

Run more than one Claude Code session and you lose track of them. Which one finished? Which is stuck waiting on you? You end up checking every window. Crew 2.0 adds Windows, a rare creature that turns up on one repo in 64, approving a command straight from the creature, and a rewrite of how approvals hook into Claude Code so they only ever fire when a dialog was genuinely coming. It also runs about a third lighter than 1.8. Free, Mac and Windows. Pro is $12 once.

A small shelf of native Mac widgets and desktop companions. Free to try, made with care by Rav.

Native, featherweight widgets that make your machine feel a bit more alive. Take one off the shelf. A tiny crew of pixel monsters, one per Claude Code chat and subagent, showing what your agents are up to. A little creature that lives in your notch. It holds your files in its mouth, feels how your Mac feels, and chews what you feed it. Endless bubble wrap for your desktop. Click to pop, with a real pop and a trackpad haptic. Your Mac unlocks like a shop rolling up its shutter. A three-second reveal every morning. A paper receipt of everything you did in Claude Code today, grouped by project and paste-ready. New small things land here now and then. The shelf is never quitefrom crew-deskmates.vercel.app

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
