Freshclone
Fast environment scan for hidden issues before you ship
What it does
Audits a Node project for hidden dependencies on your local environment. - m9ter1a/freshclone A zero-config CLI auditor that scans your project environment for hidden issues outside your code before you ship, share, or pass context to AI agents. Audits dependencies, path portability, node/env reproducibility, and workspace configs in one command: npx @m9ter1a/freshclone/
Audits a Node project for hidden dependencies on your local environment. - m9ter1a/freshclone
freshclone finds the things in your repository that only work because of how your machine is set up. A script that calls a globally installed binary. An import whose case is wrong in a way only Linux notices. A file the build needs that .gitignore keeps out of the clone. One command, one score, one list of what to fix. npx @m9ter1a/freshclone ./ Nothing to install for a one-off run. To keep it in a project: npm i -D @m9ter1a/freshclone Node 18 or newer. Stop-nagging is a Rust CLI tool I built to automatically silence those annoying upgrade prompts, telemetry, and advertising nags that plague our development tools. It works by setting environment variables and running configuration commands without modifying source code. * Fast, zero-config Rust binary * Linux, Windows and macOS compatible * Uses YAML for easy contribution of new tools * Never fails (exits 0) to avoid breaking CI pipelines * Respects existing environment variables * Works across multiple ecosystems (Node.js, Python, Rust, etc.) The tool is designed to be simple - run it once…
- AAAt a Glance ESM Support for NPM Packages2022 · ▲9
We've rolled out a feature for openbase.com that we think is a DX game changer for Node devs. Since the emergence of ECMA Script modules, it's been a continuous guessing game as to what kind of exports a package has. That's never really been discoverable without using a site like unpkg, or installing the package and inspecting package.json. Openbase now displays the ES Module support level (e.g. type of exports) on all of their package pages. We added this feature because our devs are some of the folks continually caught off guard by installing an NPM dependency only to find out it's…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
