FyroDB

Redis-compatible in-memory database built in Rust

What it does

FyroDB is a Redis-compatible in-memory database written in Rust, focused on high-performance concurrency and memory efficiency. It supports the RESP protocol, major Redis data types and commands, and a lock-free concurrent architecture.

    Distributed JMAP and IMAP Servers in Rust2022 · github.com · ▲190

I am happy to announce Stalwart JMAP [1], an open-source JSON Meta Application Protocol server that aims to be scalable, robust and secure. Some of its key features are: - JMAP Core, JMAP Mail and JMAP over WebSocket full compliance. - IMAP4 rev2/1 support via Stalwart IMAP, an imap-to-jmap proxy [2]. - Scalable and fault tolerant: consensus over Raft, node autodiscovery over gossip and read-only replicas. - RocksDB backend with full-text search support in 17 languages. - OAuth 2.0 authorization code and device authorization flows. - Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) message signing. -…

    AllyDB – An in-memory database similar to Redis, built using Elixir2023 · github.com · ▲20

Hey, everyone. I am currently working on AllyDB, which is basically my own Redis, which I am writing in Elixir. Currently, the database is nowhere close to being ready, as you can see in the roadmap, but I am doing my best to add stuff as fast as possible. Currently the implementation is very simple, with an in memory table, an append log persistence system, as well as an interval persistence system as a backup. The database could definitely be optimized further, especially when it comes to persistence, which I am planning to do in the future. I'm also planning to use Rust NIFs for specific…

    FalkorDB – Open-source graph database major update (C/Rust)2025 · ▲7

Hey HN, I’m Roi, one of the co-creators of FalkorDB. We’re a growing team working on a graph database designed for production workloads and GraphRAG systems. The new release (v4.10.0) is out, and I wanted to share some of the updates and ask for feedback from folks who care about performance, memory efficiency in graph-heavy systems. FalkorDB is an open-source property graph database that supports OpenCypher (with our own extensions) and is used under the hood for retrieval-augmented generation setups where accuracy matters. The big problem we’re working on is scaling graph databases without…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
