GitCruiter
GitCruiter analyzes public GitHub data to estimate a developer’s technical level and habits. Each profile generates a detailed report with metrics like Algorithmic Thinking, Code Quality, Project Organization, Testing Practices, Documentation, and Problem Solving, plus an overall score (e.g., Senior 80/100). You can browse developers by region, language, or framework — for example, “Python devs in Canada” or “React engineers in Eastern Europe.” We built it to make developer evaluation more transparent — no résumés, no mystery algorithms, just interpretable metrics from real repos and…

GitHiredDec 2025 · githired.tech · ▲360Hey HN - today I’m launching GitHired. A hiring platform that ranks developers based on what they actually build — not what they claim on a PDF. It’s called GitHired, and here’s the core idea: GitHub > Resumes Instead of trusting “proficient in React” bullet points, we analyze a candidate’s actual GitHub: their real tech stack their most complex projects how active they are what kinds of contributions they make which skills match your job description and yes, we detect fake “green square farming.” Why we built this Because engineering hiring is broken. Resumes are inflated. Activity charts…

GitDiagram2025 · gitdiagram.com · ▲342GitDiagram is an open-source micro dev-tool that I made this past week Given any public GitHub repository it generates diagrams in Mermaid.js with Claude 3.5 Sonnet I extract information from the file tree and README for details and interactivity (you can click components to be taken to relevant files and directories) Also, you can replace "hub" with "diagram" in any repository URL to access its diagram I created this because I wanted to contribute to open-source projects but quickly realized their codebases are too massive for me to dig through manually, so this helps me get started I do…
- GCGitalytics.com - Quicker Way to check someone's github profile2011 · gitalytics.com · ▲83
Since everyone seems to be making a github application, I thought I'd share mine. It's an aggregated view of all of a given person's github projects, as well as easyish lookups for linkedin/stackoverflow/hackernews. It attempts to determine both productivity (how much code did this person write?) as well as impact (did anyone care?) I'd love any feedback, but go easy on the number of simultaneous searches as I'm trying to play nice by github's api limits. check it -- http://www.gitalytics.com

- IBI built a tool to find devs based on code, not LinkedIn titles2025 · gitmatcher.com · ▲86
Hey HN After years working in software engineering and helping with hiring, I noticed a frustrating pattern: Companies often rely on résumés and LinkedIn titles to find developers instead of looking at what they've actually built. So I built GitMatcher. It analyzes GitHub profiles to surface developers based on: Their public repos Commit history Originality and usefulness of code Patterns that show consistency and real skill No keywords. No job titles. Just code. GitMatcher is useful if you're: - A recruiter tired of resume roulette - A founder looking for a technical co-founder - An OSS…

I went down the rabbit hole on a side project and ended up building this: Strange Attractors(https://blog.shashanktomar.com/posts/strange-attractors). It’s built with three.js. Working on it reminded me of the little "maths for fun" exercises I used to do while learning programming in early days. Just trying things out, getting fascinated and geeky, and being surprised by the results. I spent way too much time on this, but it was extreme fun. My favorite part: someone pointed me to the Simone Attractor on Threads. It is a 2D attractor and I asked GPT to extrapolate it to…

Autism Simulator▲779Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…
