I built a flexible focus timer helping you stay in flow state
The problem with classical Pomodoro is that we often finish our work early or the task takes longer than 25 minutes, resulting in interruptions by the alarm. Flowmodor addresses this by offering flexibility: work x minutes, take x/5 minutes break. Flowmodor automatically calculate and set break timer for you based on your work duration. In this way you can stay in the flow state while maintaining the 5:1 work-break ratio.

In plain words
Flowmodor is a focus timer designed for people who struggle with fixed-interval productivity methods. Unlike traditional Pomodoro timers with set 25-minute cycles, Flowmodor lets users work for any duration and automatically calculates proportional break times, maintaining a 5:1 work-to-break ratio. This flexible approach prevents interruptions when tasks finish early or run long, helping users stay in flow state while still taking regular breaks.

FlowTime - Focus Timer2025 · flow.yattask.app · ▲5Hi HN, I built FlowTime. I love Pomodoro but often hit peak focus around minute 25; the fixed break emptied my working memory and I lost the thread. FlowTime lets you work as long as you’re in flow, then take a break equal to 20% of the focus time. One-tap Work → Next Break, task-linked tracking, and a day/week/month/year stats dashboard. Tech: Next.js + TypeScript; data is local-only (no signup). Known limits: single-device data; sync may come later. Would love feedback on: edge cases, UX flow, and what would make this truly useful for creative/deep work.

Hey there HN! We’re Joe and Stopa, and today we’re open sourcing InstantDB, a client-side database that makes it easy to build real-time and collaborative apps like Notion and Figma. Building modern apps these days involves a lot of schleps. For a basic CRUD app you need to spin up servers, wire up endpoints, integrate auth, add permissions, and then marshal data from the backend to the frontend and back again. If you want to deliver a buttery smooth user experience, you’ll need to add optimistic updates and rollbacks. We do these steps over and over for every feature we build, which can…
