I made an app to help plan your Weekly Runs

Hello there, When I started training for the first marathon in my life, I download a 6 months training plan, printed it, pinned it to my fridge, and started circling each completed training day. Sadly, I would often get injured during my runs, which would lead to days or weeks without running, and a lot of changes to the plan I had printed. All running apps that I tried either forced me to follow their plan from the start (which I didn’t want to do because I was already in the middle of training) or made it extremely slow and difficult to add a custom plan. So I decided to create my own app,…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hello there, When I started training for the first marathon in my life, I download a 6 months training plan, printed it, pinned it to my fridge, and started circling each completed training day. Sadly, I would often get injured during my runs, which would lead to days or weeks without running, and a lot of changes to the plan I had printed. All running apps that I tried either forced me to follow their plan from the start (which I didn’t want to do because I was already in the middle of training) or made it extremely slow and difficult to add a custom plan. So I decided to create my own app, that would allow me not only to quickly import the training plan I was following but also to easily adapt it to real-life events. I called it “Weekly Runs”. The app makes it easy to enter a new training plan, by cloning existing weeks and making only necessary adjustments. More importantly, the app allows to insert non-running and recovery weeks after an injury, into the existing training plan. I also noticed that I would often forget to perform some of the warm-up exercises I planned to do before every run. This is why I added a custom checklist of pre-run activities, that must be checked before starting each run. I hope this app will be as useful to you, as it was to me. I’d appreciate any feedback on the app. Please let me know of any changes or additional features that you would like to see in the app. Thanks for your feedback!

    I spent 2 years building an iOS app no one asked for2025 · basamasa.github.io · ▲7

i built a heart rate zone training app for runners. ios + apple watch. custom zones, real-time haptics, post-run graphs. all the “smart” stuff you’d expect. but i never talked to a single runner before building it. not even myself lol. started as a thesis → kept building → added features → added a paywall (€4/month!) → launched it → and yeah… no one cared. zero feedback. zero users. just code in the void. i recently made the whole thing free. not trying to “sell” anything now — just seeing if it’s actually useful, and listening this time. curious how others handle this. ever build…

I built a tool to show how people trained for your goal marathon time2025 · getfast.ai · ▲6

The idea for this came from wanting something like Naviance (let’s you see the GPA and test scores of admitted students for a given college) for marathon running. In general, we’re working on making your running data more useful, and our newest tool, called, "Marathon Cohorts," gives you stats about runners who finished a marathon in a given time. You pick a marathon time / cohort and then look at - Weekly training mileage - Fastest 5k, 10k, half marathon, and 30k during training. You can adjust the cohorts to see how these values change as the marathon time gets slower / faster.…

Streak.ly tracks what you do daily and I'd love feedback on the concept2010 · ▲54

I've been working on a side project called Streak.ly with a friend of mine for the past month or so; it's intended to help keep you motivated to do otherwise mundane daily tasks (like do 10 pushups, read for an hour, etc.) by letting you log "streaks" — consecutive days in a row of doing something. It's in private alpha/beta/gamma/whatever right now (has some rough edges to clean up), but is more or less functionally complete and pretty stable. I'm a big fan of the Seinfeld calendar, and have seen other services which do similar things but were unsatisfying to use, either from an aesthetic…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

Unlike vanilla GPT-4, Phind feeds in relevant websites and technical documentation, reducing the model’s hallucination and keeping it up-to-date. To use it, simply enable the “Expert” toggle before doing a search. GPT-4 is making a night-and-day difference in terms of answer quality.
