LineTime - world history as a single smoothly zoomable timeline

I'm happy to announce the release of LineTime 1.5! LineTime is an iPad and iPhone app that lets you view the last 2000 years of history as a gorgeous, zoomable timeline. Pinch to zoom in to see individual days, or zoom out to see centuries. Tap on events to display information about that event. Most information is taken from Wikipedia, but with version 1.5 we also include over 400 well-researched, in-depth articles written by findingdulcinea.com (history articles geared toward teachers). With the latest update, it's also possible to filter the events being shown by a keyword phrase, so enter…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

I'm happy to announce the release of LineTime 1.5! LineTime is an iPad and iPhone app that lets you view the last 2000 years of history as a gorgeous, zoomable timeline. Pinch to zoom in to see individual days, or zoom out to see centuries. Tap on events to display information about that event. Most information is taken from Wikipedia, but with version 1.5 we also include over 400 well-researched, in-depth articles written by findingdulcinea.com (history articles geared toward teachers). With the latest update, it's also possible to filter the events being shown by a keyword phrase, so enter "earthquake" for example and it only displays any major earthquake over the past 2000 years. Here's a quick 2 minute demo video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW__WZ6pxJ8 The app is available on the App Store now: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/linetime-world-history-timeline/id428475853?l=de&ls=1&mt=8 Here are some promotional codes: TKM7PM3N99T4 F44F7K4FT4YW JN6N7AHYYK79 A3K7HEWR33J9 RKTM49FXLALY We hope that you enjoy the app as much as we do. We're looking forward to your feedback and comments!

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
