What it does

pybatmesh is a program to create a wireless mesh network for communicating with each other. It can be useful during an internet shutdown , or to join online classes with a group of laptops. It uses B.A.T.M.A.N. Advanced , an implementation of the B.A.T.M.A.N. routing protocol to communicate with peers. WARNING : This program uses an unencrypted network. This means you do not get any more privacy or security than with an open WiFi network. This program is available in the AUR for Arch users. Users of other distributions will have to build manually. Optionally, setup systemd-resolved for DNS. Start pybatmesh when you need it. pybatmesh is not packaged for Debian or Ubuntu, so you will have to…from git.disroot.org

I wasn't quite sure if this qualified as "Show HN" given you can't really download it and try it out. However, dang said[0]: > If it's hardware or something that's not so easy to try out over the internet, find a different way to show how it actually works—a video, for example, or a detailed post with photos. Hopefully I did that? Additionally, I've put code and a detailed guide for the netboot computer management setup on GitHub: https://github.com/kentonv/lanparty Anyway, if this shouldn't have been Show HN, I apologize! I've decided to open source the project I've been working on called Hyperspace. Hyperspace is a suite of software implementing a wireless mesh network for IoT devices. My main requirements are listed on my repo but I'll copy them here. 1. The mesh shall enable nodes to route packets amongst themselves. 2. The mesh shall allow nodes with limited power to participate in routing packets. 3. The mesh shall be IPv6 based. 4. The mesh shall be local. I.E. not require connection to a remote server. 5. The mesh should provide 3D location to nodes in the network. Nodes use the Decawave DW1000 UWB…
