My first website ever, just out of college (1999)

In plain words

My first website ever, just out of college (1999) is a life and fun project that archives an early personal website from 1999. The project captures a snapshot of what someone created when they were just starting out after college, preserved through the Internet Archive. It appeals to people interested in web history, nostalgia, and how personal websites looked and functioned in the early internet era. The archive provides a window into late-90s web design and personal expression online.

  Whataaabout.com – unique activity ideas for the holiday break2023 · whataaabout.com · ▲235

Hi HN, I’ve been working on whataaabout.com with a friend, while learning to code. It's a fun little website for those short on time but seeking new experiences. It started from a question, "when was the last time you did an experience you had never done before?". As human beings we need some degree of novelty, to expose ourselves to the unfamiliar and keep learning throughout our lives. So to add a spark to my daily routine and keep novelty coming my way, I started collecting ideas of interesting and unusual activities I’d like to try out sooner or later. The main selection criteria is…

A friend and I spent 6 years making a simulation game, finally released▲1,157

I've seen some interests in (simulation) video games here on HN so I thought I'd share a short version of our story. More than 6 years ago, me and my friend from university were playing around with an idea of making a game we always wanted to play. We worked on it on weekends but the progress was quite slow, especially due to so many dead ends and wasted effort. Eventually however, we solidified our direction and decided to take the risk to resign from our well paid SWE jobs and work on it full time. It took more than a year but yesterday we have finally released it on Steam:…
