Oxidase – Transpiles TypeScript at the Speed of Parsing

Hi HN, Oxidase is my experiment to build a TypeScript transpiler that works like ts-blank-space[0] and Node.js' built-in type stripping[1], but also supports enums and namespaces. I've tried some optimizations on it and am surprised to find that it's now as fast as oxc, the TypeScript parser it's based on. Check the link for the benchmark results and details on how I make this possible if you are interested. The name pays homage to oxc (same prefix) and sucrase[2] (name for another type of enzyme), where I borrowed the idea of no AST allocation optimization. [0]…

    Nub – A Bun-like all-in-one toolkit for Node.jsJun 2026 · github.com · ▲277

Colin here, creator of Nub. I’ve had the general shape of this in mind for years. Nub runs your code with stock `node`, augmented with a `--require` preload hook[0] that adds a transpiler (oxc-powered, packaged as a Node-API add-on), registers a module resolution hook[1], and injects polyfills as needed for APIs like `Worker`, `Temporal`, etc. All purely additive, your code ultimately runs using Node’s actual engine & stdlib implementations. Eno – A lightning fast, user-friendly YAML/TOML alternative2018 · ▲102

eno [1] - A modern plaintext language w/ libraries [2] for JavaScript, Python, Ruby & soon more! We migrated a big relational research database to a file-based solution - requirements were: - Super fast and easy editability for users - Highest performance for parsing/validating >10K documents on every user change. Our trials with YAML/TOML showed us that we wanted something both faster [3][4] and easier [4], something tailored for file-based content management ... and after months of research & development it's now publicly available (under MIT license) for everyone! SharpTS – Run TypeScript Natively on .NET via AOT CompilationJan 2026 · github.com · ▲6

Hey HN! I'm the author of SharpTS, a TypeScript interpreter and ahead-of-time compiler written in C#. *What makes it different:* - Dual execution modes - interpret TypeScript directly OR compile to native .NET executables - Full C# interop - compile TypeScript to DLLs that C# projects can reference with full type safety *What works today:* - Core TypeScript: classes, interfaces, generics, async/await, decorators - Advanced types: union/intersection types, literal types, type guards - Compiles to verifiable .NET IL with performance comparable to hand-written C# - 80+ unit tests,…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…

i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
