Related Website Finder Experiment Thingy
Been messing with cosine similarity and decided to try calculating nearest neighbors over the entire link graph for the marginalia search engine. Turns out that you can just bruteforce that in a day or two. And the results are pretty good. One drawback is that depending on if you're looking at an older website, a lot of the links are dead. The deduplication isn't great either.
Related Website Finder Experiment Thingy launched on October 9, 2022 with 5 votes, #1,488 of 3,153 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 4 years on.
What it does
How does it work? In plain English, this service looks at which websites link to a particular target website, and then it ranks websites that are popular among those linking websites using a method commonly used in recommendation algorithms.
