Speed Miners – A tiny RTS resource mini-game
I've always loved RTS games and wanted to make a game similar for a long time. I thought I'd just try and build a mini / puzzle game around the resource gathering aspects of an RTS. Objective: You have a base at the center and you need to mine and "refine" all of the resources on the map in as short a time as possible. By default, the game will play automatically, but not optimally (moving and buying upgrades). You can disable that with the buttons. You can select drones and right click to move them to specific resources patches and buy upgrades as you earn upgrade points. I've…
In plain words
Speed Miners is a resource-gathering puzzle game inspired by real-time strategy mechanics. Players manage drones from a central base to mine and refine all resources on a map as quickly as possible. The game runs automatically by default but can be controlled manually to select drones and purchase upgrades. It features three difficulty levels and operates best on desktop. The game was built with Phaser and emphasizes the resource collection aspects of traditional RTS games in a condensed format.

You can select drones and right click to move them to specific resources patches and buy upgrades as you earn upgrade points. I've implemented three different levels and some basic sounds. I used Phaser at the game library (first time using it). It won't work well on a mobile.

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
