Status Scheduler - My 3 week sprint.

Hi everyone, I want to share my latest creation. I have a few beta users using it, but would love more feedback. I spoke to some HN users and they suggested I revamp the layout, so I did that before posting it to the HN site. Please check it out and let me know what you think. http://www.statusscheduler.com

    Phoneify - 20 hours with Rails 3 & Twilio2011 · phoneify.com · ▲95

I wrote this over the last couple of weeks using Rails 3, Twilio and a variety of Gems, putting in about 2 hours per day. I'd love any feedback from the HN community on any aspects of the site (design, API construction, documentation, marketing, pricing which is TBD). On a related note: I have to say that I'm really flying with Rails 3. Typically I roll with Django, but have been super impressed with the Rails 3. Feels really clean, and there are some Gems that make the more mundane parts of the webapp construction fun and agile: Haml/Sass, blueprint, Fancy-buttons, Devise. I'll probably…

    App for sharing your weekly schedule2011 · thesetimes.info · ▲38

Howdy HN, As a small side project, I built a small app to share weekly time schedules. It's been useful for me to help schedule meeting and share semester schedules with friends. I hope some others find some use with it. I have a few more simple ideas to implement with it, and any suggestions are encouraged. Thank you!

Streak.ly tracks what you do daily and I'd love feedback on the concept2010 · ▲54

I've been working on a side project called Streak.ly with a friend of mine for the past month or so; it's intended to help keep you motivated to do otherwise mundane daily tasks (like do 10 pushups, read for an hour, etc.) by letting you log "streaks" — consecutive days in a row of doing something. It's in private alpha/beta/gamma/whatever right now (has some rough edges to clean up), but is more or less functionally complete and pretty stable. I'm a big fan of the Seinfeld calendar, and have seen other services which do similar things but were unsatisfying to use, either from an aesthetic…

Weekdone, weekly status reporting for teams2013 · ▲7

Hey HN friends, This week we launched in public Weekdone (http://weekdone.com/), a really easy and simple to use weekly team status reporting tool. We already have a lot of startups using us, even in small teams of 4-5 people. Many use us in addition and in parallel to Basecamp, Asana, Jira, Trello, Pivotal etc. While there is a lot of data in those systems, nobody has time to read what others are up to. So each team member posting their key plans, progress and problems weekly is something everyone has time to read. We'll add import of headlines from the systems above in the future as well.…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
