Tracking voter discussion of the Presidential debates

Votizen is working to remove the influence of money in politics by making political decision-making more peer-to-peer. We're using Twitter and our API to pull tweets from only registered voters, and showing how the discussion breaks down among the parties. This has never been done before as far as I know, not even by the major media outlets. Please check it out and let me know what you think. If people are interested, we'll work to improve it for the further debates and campaigns.

Tracking voter discussion of the Presidential debates launched on October 4, 2012 with 44 votes, #44 of 487 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches.

In plain words

Votizen tracks and analyzes political discussion during presidential debates by filtering tweets from registered voters only and displaying how conversation breaks down by political party. The tool uses Twitter's API to monitor peer-to-peer political discourse, offering a view of debate-related discussion that differs from traditional media coverage. It is designed for those interested in understanding voter sentiment and engagement patterns during major political events.

hi friends! i'm pretty tired of engagement bait and all the political nonsense on my x/twitter feed. i was curious if i could use an llm to filter out these type of content, so i prototyped a quick chrome extension. it uses LLama 3.3 to analyze the tweet through https://groq.com/ (because they are super-super fast). the extension is available in the chrome store, also there is a link to the repo. - you can tweak the system prompt for the filtering - but you need your own API key from Groq (you can get one for free)

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
