We made an open-source AI agent to help you during your on-call shifts
Hey guys, We’re excited to introduce to you what we’ve been working on for the past few months. We are two co-founders and we’ve both experienced on-call shifts where we felt unprepared, the relevant people weren’t around to help or we were left in the middle of the night trying to figure out what went wrong. Merlinn is an open-source AI on-call developer that lives in Slack. It can help you alleviate some of the pains mentioned above by connecting to your favorite tools and pair with you to triage the incident. We also have a pro version that we host on our cloud. Our goal is to help…

Our goal is to help companies reduce MTTR, keep your SLAs in check and improve the on-call experience. Hello HN! The day has finally come to stop adding features and start sharing what I've been building the last 5-6 months. It's a bit of CrewAI, OpenDevon, LangFuse/Cloud all in one, providing devs who prefer TypeScript an integrated framework thats provides a lot out of the box to start experimenting and building agents with. It started after peeking at the LangChain docs a few times and never liking the example code. I began experimenting with automating a simple Jira request from the engineering team to add an index to one of our Google Spanner databases (for context I'm the…

Hey Hackers, My co-founder and I built an AI bot that reads the natural-language context from email or Slack chat and traces availability links (Calendly, cal.com, etc), then compares the other person availability with yours to find the optimal time. It also drafts email responses and re-schedules meetings. Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAJBARVWf1w Thanks very much in advance for your feedback!

hey hacker news! no matter what I have tried, nothing actually got rid of spam calls. built an AI agent that picks up your phone to filter out these spammers dynamically. next on the roadmap is automating scheduling

Hi HN, I’m the creator of Cordum. I’ve been working in DevOps and infrastructure for years (currently in the fintech/security space), and as I started playing with AI agents, I noticed a scary pattern. Most "safety" mechanisms rely on system prompts ("Please don't do X") or flimsy Python logic inside the agent itself. If we treat agents as autonomous employees, giving them root access and hoping they listen to instructions felt insane to me. I wanted a way to enforce hard constraints that the LLM cannot override, no matter how "jailbroken" it gets. So I built Cordum. It’s an open-source…
- HGHybrid Groups – Agentic AI for human team collaboration [video]2025 · youtube.com · ▲7
Most AI applications are built for individuals but work happens in groups and humans want to collaborate with both agentic AI and other teammates in the same session. We created Hybrid Groups for that purpose. In Hybrid Groups, agents join group chats as virtual team members in Slack and GitHub. They participate in group conversations, proactively contribute when needed and perform actions on behalf of individual users, like managing your calendar for meeting suggestions or updating your todo list without sharing access to your private resources to the group. The project is open-source at…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
