I often don't have time to watch games that interest me, so I built a site that lets you step through each play at your own pace. You get to see the game unfold without the 'spoiler' that occurs when you're constantly shown the live status. It's pretty fun - even if it's no replacement for watching the real thing! Hey HN, I built a website to watch live baseball games in an 8-bit broadcast. It takes live MLB data streams and converts them into near real-time pixel art gamecasts. I treated myself to a solo hackathon this weekend and built https://next-season-of.com. The data is scrapped from IMDB and the website is generated using the hugo template engine. There's still a lot of optimization to be done but I'm planning to use this as a learning ground to try and get my pages to rank in Google. It would be really cool to search "next season of Ozark" and see a link to next-season-of.com.

I built didtheywinornot.com this week in my spare hours before work. Currently it only does baseball scores, but as new seasons start in the fall, I think I'll expand it to other sports. Would love some feedback and any ideas as to how to make it better, keeping in mind that this is meant to be single purpose and not at all bloated. Did I miss a stat that people really care about? Is the amount of information good enough?

With my friends we wanted to have a nice friendly competition (no money involved) about the football worldcup by predicting the results. I though this might interest other groups of friends so I coded a website just for that in 3 days. Nothing ground breaking but I like the suscription system "Doodle" style with just links, no personal infos... Tell me what you think !

Hi! I made this as a side project this week to submit a bracket for our friends' NFL playoff bracket competition. It is all html and vanilla JS, runs directly in the browser, and is pretty fun to take for a spin. Obviously it is far from polished - that might have to wait for next year!

Hi all! With the World Cup around the corner, and being a football fan, I went looking for apps that would give me a detailed overview of groups, matches categorized by group or team, a daily timeline of when games happen that day (especially useful for us in Europe, since some games run pretty late), and a way to follow my favorite team or teams. The problem I ran into was that most apps out there are pretty bloated — like, really bloated.
