Products that do what Artifact Guesser, guess the date and location of ancient art objects does

Hi y'all, Made this game as a side-project a while back, figure some of you might enjoy it. Idea came while playing GeoGuessr (as you might have guessed). Artifacts are from the MET API, which is fantastic and well worth exploring for personal projects if you're into that sort of thing. I'm also working on adding 3D artifacts as in here: https://artifactguesser.com/artifacts/66880eb60da993fab0ffff... (warning, that page isn't super mobile friendly, but you'll get the idea). Shameless plug, if you think what I built is neat, I am a fullstack dev looking work, you can…

Hi HN! I love imagining the past, so I made Time Portal, a game where you are dropped into a historical event and see AI video footage from that moment. You have to guess where you are in time and on the map. It’s like GeoGuessr (and heavily inspired by it!) but for historical events. The videos are all created with AI. It’s a pipeline of Flux (images), Kling (video), and mmaudio (audio). The videos aren’t always historically accurate to the last detail. They might incorporate elements of folklore or have details from popular beliefs about the way things looked rather than the latest…

Hi, I designed and developed a spatial index that maps museum artefacts as connecting arcs/hyperlinks from their origin site to institutional location/sources. The Index specifically looks at western/euro-american institutions and maps their collection categorised by them under Islamic art, Asian/African art, ethnological collections, Middle East, South America etc. Started as my MA thesis in 2022, kept building since, mostly solo with a little funding. Fully open source, self-hosted, AGPL-3.0, Next.js + Deck.gl on the frontend, Strapi backend, Python ETL pulling from…

Hi! Any history nerds here? I made Time Pin, a little game inspired by Geo Guessr but history-themed. You can play it here(it works on both desktop and mobile). Any feedback is appreciated: https://www.crazygames.com/game/time-pin Now some details: The goal is to guess the time and place that a character is from. You base your guess on some environmental photos, and on questions that you can ask the character(you have 12 questions but can only ask 5 so you have to choose carefully). The closer you are the more points you get. At the end, a portrait picture of the…

Hey all, I’m coding up a new tour system for my 3d Egyptian work. After the last feedback, I focused on building more interactive content and fx into the guided tours with sound and telling the mythology in the wall art. I’d love feedback with the new version – this is built with vanilla Three.js and footage captured on my iPhone 12. For various fx, I coded many of my own shaders based on work by https://twitter.com/akella and others on ShaderToy, so I’m keen to test on more devices. As the hacker, so the (ancient) painter.

This was more of a sandbox to play with Raphael and Flot than anything else but I think there are some interesting statistics in there. It'd be awesome to do this over time but I really don't have the spare time required.

Hello HN! We're the team behind Epistemeland (https://epistemeland.com/), a platform dedicated to making learning fun and accessible. We've just released a prototype of a single player game that uses basic geometry. It is a fist, but an important step in creating our MMO game to revolutionize education. The game mechanics are simple but intriguing and naturally incorporated in the game process. We built it with UE5 and want to continue development. We'd love for you to try it out and give us your feedback, which we'll use to guide our next improvement cycle. Our goal is to…

I haven't seen anything like this so I decided to build it in a weekend. How it works: You see a bunch of things pulled from Wikipedia displayed on cards. You ask yes or no questions to figure out which card is the secret article. The AI model has access to the image and wiki text and it's own knowledge to answer your question. Happy to have my credits burned for the day but I'll probably have to make this paid at some point so enjoy. I found it's not easy to get cheap+fast+good responses but the tech is getting there. Most of the prompts are running through Groq infra or hitting a cache…

Hello everyone! I've finally finished my latest side project - a RPG game made in Blazor. It started as a small project to learn some Blazor (I'm .NET dev but kept mainly to backend and ASP.NET). I had such a good time coding it that at some point I decided to make a full featured game out of it. I might've have bitten off more that I could chew as RPGs have so many systems and elements but overall I think it worked out well, especially for a single person project. I want to hop on the next project soon so any comments/questions/tips than can make me better really appreciated!

Well HN, I've finally produced something I think is worthy of sharing, but I didn't do it "in a weekend". Yeah, it's an iOS puzzle game. And yeah, it's a game I built because I wanted to play it rather than based on market research, so all this sort of makes it the antithesis of a popular HN post. But whatever. Still hoping for some of that patented (har har) expert HN feedback. Critique any part of it except the music. Also, PM me for upgrade codes, or I can post some here if there's any interest. I'm working on the Survival Crafting RPG that you would have played on your Apple II back in the '80s. You can think of it as Valheim's gameplay crammed into the tile-based UI of the old Ultima games. It has a procedurally-generated open world with towns and NPCs to talk to, all the resource gathering, mining, crafting stuff you'd expect in a modern survival game, and some good old fashioned dungeon crawling to boot. I've been working on it off and on for the last several months. It's complete up through the Bronze Age (in Valheim terms). Let me know what you think!…

To keep busy over the weekend, I decided to build a small AI Art collection site .... and ended up building an amusingly enjoyable AI art buying web-game where you basically collect beautiful AI art using virtual (not real) dollars. Enjoy => https://yoomter.com

Hey everyone, I'm Fabio, a very long time lurker here. Today I want to celebrate and share with you, again, a game that I conceived more than 8 years ago. I shared it last week with all its history (if you're curious) [1], but it just stayed in the "shownew" and never reached the main "show" page, hopefully this time it'll do better (:crossed_fingers:)! What changed since last week? Today I've also published the mobile apps for both iOS and Android (last week it was just web), which are also my first mobile apps ever. So I believe it's still a worthwhile post and something to show :) I'd…

I had an idea for this concept for a while and decided to build a little website around it. It's kind of a silly idea but I'm really curious to see how it plays out. If you're a particularly curious person, be warned. By submitting a payment to the game, you get to see how many other people were curious enough to play. You will be ranked based on your payment amount, and get to discover some interesting insights about the game's dynamics. Hope you like it

Hi, I’ve been working on Artifacts for the past 2 years, and it’s now ready to try. It’s a sandbox MMORPG where every action is done through a REST API. Instead of clicking to move, fight, gather, craft, or trade, you write code to control your characters. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, I’d be happy to hear them.

It's like a mix between Picross (Nonograms) and Polyominoes. It's a minimalist puzzler which has no text, no tutorials (none required) and no ads set in a relaxing environment. I have a bulk load of Android promo codes to give away, so if you'd like one let me know! (Sorry iOS users, I have no free codes left!)

Hey HN, I’m excited to share PRISM, an open-source system we’ve been building that fuses multiple AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, and FAL API) with Processing to create evolving geometric art and static images. The idea came from our fascination with how AI can generate new forms but often lacks a memory or evolutionary approach. PRISM aims to solve that by “remembering” past successes and failures and then adapting its creative approach over time + useful for automating batches and variations of specific styles of techniques with prompt adjusting. *Key Features:* - Multi-model AI Generation:…
