    We ported pbrt-v4 to Julia and built it into a Makie backend. Any Makie plot can now be rendered with physically-based path tracing. Julia compiles user-defined physics directly into GPU kernels, so anyone can extend the ray tracer with new materials and media - a black hole with gravitational lensing is ~200 lines of Julia. But the other day I decided to ask Claude and GPT how to make this a full RT 3d explorer. A few hours later and this was vibe coded.     While studying Geometric Algebra I have built some interactive visualization to demonstrate how geometric transformations (rotation, scaling, translation) can be constructed by just composing reflections. Accepting reflection as the most elementary geometric operation was an eye opening moment for me. I think some of you might enjoy the interactive visuals.

    I've been working on GeoTraceroute for a while and just shipped v2.3 with submarine cable inference. A few things that might interest HN: - 320 community-contributed nodes across 50 countries, all volunteer-run - Three views: 3D globe with day/night rendering, 2D map, and a topological mode that infers submarine cable routing - The submarine cable inference is the part I find most interesting.
