Products that do what Cogram Studio – CAD and BIM workspace for humans and agents does
Hi HN, Rick and Alex here, co-founders of Cogram. We’ve been making project-management software for architects and engineers since 2023, and are now experimenting with a second product. Cogram Studio (studio.cogram.com) is a CAD and BIM workspace for AI agents to create three-dimensional models and dimensioned drawings. Studio runs FreeCAD (https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD) 1.1 headlessly, using the OpenCASCADE (https://github.com/Open-Cascade-SAS/OCCT) geometry kernel. It imports and exports STEP, IFC, STL, DXF and FCStd files. Studio exposes an MCP…

Hey HN! I'm Zach from Adam (https://adam.new/). We’re building an AI co-pilot for mechanical CAD software. As part of our broader research, we built a browser-based Text-to-CAD app (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44182206) and are now open sourcing it. This is a React SPA with a Supabase backend. What it does: * Generates parametric 3D models from natural language descriptions, with support for both text prompts and image references * Outputs OpenSCAD code with automatically extracted parameters that surface as interactive sliders for instant dimension…

Hi HN! I've just released CSS Studio, a design tool that lives on your site, runs on your browser, sends updates to your existing AI agent, which edits any codebase. You can actually play around with the latest version directly on the site. Technically, the way this works is you view your site in dev mode and start editing it. In your agent, you can run /studio which then polls (or uses Claude Channels) an MCP server. Changes are streamed as JSON via the MCP, along with some viewport and URL information, and the skill has some instructions on how best to implement them. It contains a…

Hi, we're Sergey and Serafim. We've been building dev tools at 21st.dev and recently open-sourced 1Code (https://1code.dev), a local UI for Claude Code. Here's a video of the product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgk9Z-nAjC0 Claude Code has been our go-to for 4 months. When Opus 4.5 dropped, parallel agents stopped needing so much babysitting. We started trusting it with more: building features end to end, adding tests, refactors. Stuff you'd normally hand off to a developer. We started running 3-4 at once. Then the CLI became annoying: too many terminals, hard to…
