In the nature of Open Source, I am releasing something I'm actively working on but is insanely simple and will likely be made anyways. It is an SDK for scripting Claude Code. It's a lightweight (155 lines) and free wrapper around claude code This is a big deal because it seems that using claude code and cursor has become largly repitive. My workflow typically goes like this: Plan out my task into a file, then have claude code implement the plan into my code. I'm actively building a product with this, but still wanted to make it OSS! I got tired of playwright-mcp eating through Claude's 200K token limit, so I built this using the new Claude Skills system. Built it with Claude Code itself. Instead of sending accessibility tree snapshots on every action, Claude just writes Playwright code and runs it. You get back screenshots and console output. Anthropic announced today that starting June 15, paid Claude plans get a separate monthly credit pool for programmatic usage (claude -p, Agent SDK). Seems OK at first glance but it turns out the monthly credit pool is charged at API rates, which effectively kills any serious programmatic usage for hobbyists. This is a small Claude Code wrapper which runs claude in a PTY, injecting input, finding the session transcript jsonl file, and using a stop hook to determine when claude is done. Hey HN, Claude Code is pretty agentic now. It writes scripts, calls APIs, uses CLIs. But when something requires actually clicking through a website, it stops and asks me to do it. Problem is, I'm often unfamiliar with these platforms myself. "Go to App Store Connect and generate a P8 key" okay but where? I end up spending 10 minutes navigating menus I've never seen before. As I started to use Claude Code to do more random tasks I realized I could basically build any CLI tool and it would use it. So I built one that controls the browser and open-sourced it. It should work with Codex or any other CLI-based agent! I have a long term idea where the models are all local and then the tool is privacy preserving because it's easy to remove PII from text, but I'd definitely not recommend using this for anything important just yet. The answer is simple: the more "prescriptive" you are with instructions for Claude, the worse your output. The reason is that Claude tries to pattern match - it's been trained on thousands of safe UI patterns, which is why when you ask for "a modern dashboard" it doesn't really think about the problem space; it just defaults to whatever safe design pattern it can whip up at the time.
