I'm experimenting game mechanics that are usually seen on a typical grid, but transposed on an irregular one. This is a first game based on Minesweeper. The changes an irregular grid brings are that cells don't all have 8 neighbors. Some can have less, some can have more. So when you try and deduce if a tile has a mine, you have to pay closer attention at the number clues and which tiles neighbors it. I've always loved RTS games and wanted to make a game similar for a long time. I thought I'd just try and build a mini / puzzle game around the resource gathering aspects of an RTS. Objective: You have a base at the center and you need to mine and "refine" all of the resources on the map in as short a time as possible. By default, the game will play automatically, but not optimally (moving and buying upgrades). You can disable that with the buttons. Hypersplit is like Neal's Infinite Craft but turned upside down. Instead of crafting your way up from the four elements, you start big and go small, down to quarks. It's using GPT-4 to split the words, but a big difference from Infinite Craft is that I can precalculate the possible paths since they are limited (sooner or later you hit a quark or a loop). This means that I can ship it with the whole dictionary locally instead of hitting an LLM every split.
