Everyone, I just wanted to take a minute to share with everyone my recently updated and expanded web design business. I started Masswerks in 2009 and since then it has grown tremendously. I've done work for Remax, Chitika, CrazyEgg, Spinback (acquired), Frid.ge (acquired) and more. I recently re-designed the site and added some designers and developers to my team to handle the work load. I wanted to share the launch with you all and also would love to hear your feedback on the current design and approach. Thanks!

When I see what some HN members have done in a weekend on their projects, it makes it hard to confess that it has taken us 1 year to get to this stage. Hi HN, I’ve launched the website for my upcoming side business - a little Windows desktop application that I developed to scratch a personal itch. This is a significant milestone for me as it's both my first ever website and side business. The website itself is built using Tailwind CSS with plain JavaScript and some PHP scripts to handle the sign-up forms. I used a lot of ChatGPT for all of it. We did a "Show HN post" 6 months back of our startup and we're very excited to show everyone how far we've come as well as the lessons we've learnt so far! [1/2] Thursday evening (Mar 26) we made a soft launch for https://uidesigndaily.com (a UI website that I built for my wife) The goal was to get some feedback, fix bugs and get about 30-40 subscribers in the mailing list, to see how the newsletter performs. I really wanted to move my automation server project to a proper framework instead of the current ad hoc nightmare of inline CSS and redundant classes... But nothing seemed quite right. None of them seem suitable for deep restyling without changing markup. I wanted the raw, old skool terminal days of the early internet - BBS, and old green phosphor library comptuers - but running the modern web, with all the bells and jingle jangle whistles (JavaScript, etc). No funding, no VC, just 100% raw terminal fun. Not sure how long the demo will last, but try it out.

As a product manager I've used different feedback tools and almost never liked the design and experience of the widget. Check out http://swrm.io Basically, we created a feedback platform, and launched it as a tool to allow designers to crowdsource feedback from other designers. The idea is that this tool would allow designers to improve, share knowledge, learn new skills, and consistently deliver their best work. There's a lot that still needs to get done, including making money, letting posts die out after a certain time, and making the site faster by generating image thumbnails.
