24 alternatives to NPM package for a visual scripting editor

Hey guys! I just released a NPM package to integrate a visual scripting editor into any node project (React, Vue, Angular... you name it). Basically, the goal is to provide your users a way to customize, automate, create new features for your product. Just like an open-source community, but without the barrier of code. Here's the homepage of the project: https://luna-park.app And a small tutorial for visual scripting: https://luna-park.app/challenge

This NPM package integrates a visual scripting editor into Node.js projects built with React, Vue, Angular, or other frameworks. It enables end users to customize, automate, and create features within applications… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. NPM package for a visual scripting editor launched in 2023; newer entries below may have overtaken it.

I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I made this because building UIs in a lexical medium like code is super annoying. I have to pre-render what I’m making in my head, and then jump between the browser and IDE to test. I was inspired by the developer console in chrome and safari since I end up editing css there because it’s ironically more convenient. Hope it’s useful!

Hi HN! Thanks for your attention to my post. It was a big challenge to run most of Node.js packages in browser, fast moreover. Virtual File system, resolve import/export. I got cold many times, depressions, burned out, yet still alive and finished it. Many guys helped me with an advice. Many users give a lot of positive feedback. There are 200,000 monthly unique users. I work full time now because of the freemium business model. To be honest - I am happy after many years of hard work.

I’ve been working with @artf (creator of GrapesJS) on Grapes Studio, an HTML-first editor with an LLM assistant on top of GrapesJS. We’re approaching this differently than the new wave of AI app/site builders which are typically generating full React applications, which we think is overkill for simple websites. From talking to people using these tools, we’ve seen a lot of issues with build errors and overly complicated pages. With our approach you can: - Edit visually via the no-code editor (drag/drop) or ask the LLM to make scoped changes (like “add a section” or “add a new…

Colin here, creator of Nub. I’ve had the general shape of this in mind for years. Nub runs your code with stock `node`, augmented with a `--require` preload hook[0] that adds a transpiler (oxc-powered, packaged as a Node-API add-on), registers a module resolution hook[1], and injects polyfills as needed for APIs like `Worker`, `Temporal`, etc. All purely additive, your code ultimately runs using Node’s actual engine & stdlib implementations. Hi all! Here is my open-source side-project. It is a browser extension that lets you click on a component on your localhost to get to its code in your editor. It works with React, Svelte, SolidJS, Preact, and Vue components and with VSCode, Webstorm, or any other editor that supports URL protocol links. It can be used also as JavaScript library (instead of installing browser extension) It speeds up my web development so much that I can't work without that anymore :D Let me know if you like it or if you would like to improve it somehow. Contributions are welcomed…

I first shared Puck here back in Sept 2023, and wanted to give a quick update! Here's the original post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37391848 Puck let’s you embed a page building experience within your own React application. It integrates with any backend or CMS, and since it’s MIT licensed, you can safely use it in internal tools or customer-facing products. A lot’s changed since then; here are my highlights: * Multi-column drag-and-drop with full CSS layout support (Grid, Flexbox, etc) * Viewport previewing * Headless mode for completely custom interfaces *…

Hello everyone, For the past several months, I have been building multiple React/TailwindCSS components for my projects. I have decided to bundle and document them so that I can share them with the community. The entire UI kit is written in Typescript on top of the class-variance-authority library. Although I am already using these components in production, the project is still in beta since it lacks a full test suite and dark mode. Please feel free to take a look and provide feedback if you have a moment to spare. Thank you!
