Built this after realizing I was spending ~$1400/week on Claude Code with almost no visibility into what was actually consuming tokens. I built a pool-based proxy that hacks Claude Code's pricing tiers. To actually use Claude Code you need Max at $200/mo, and then most of that capacity sits idle anyway. So ClawPool lets subscribers pool their OAuth tokens and earn up to $120/mo from the spare capacity. Everyone else gets Opus, Sonnet, all models for $8/mo. Hi HN, I was once given the advice: Don't waste expensive frontier model credits (GPT/Claude/etc.) on bulk work. Send the boring, repetitive, high-volume jobs to a smaller model, and save the expensive prompts for when you actually need frontier-level reasoning. I've been working on this Claude Code pipeline for making 10-minute movies, gluing together Seedance (videogen), Nano Banana (image gen), and ElevenLabs (voice gen), and using Claude as the director. My repo contributes a markdown playbook and a worked example which should make it easier for other people to make their own short movies. A first-pass movie takes around 2.5 hours of wall clock time and costs around $200, and iterating is easy thanks to intermediate artifacts like storyboards and voice samples.
