Products that do what Please review my landing page does

http://albumcorner.com Each week, the website will feature one independently distributed album by an indie artist. We're partnering with the musicians to put the whole album up for streaming for free and for download for $5. However, it is only available for ONE day: Wednesday (there is nothing happening on the site the rest of the time other than augmenting the email list). If you enter an email, you will get an offer to invite 3 friends for a free (instant) download of an album. What do you think of the landing page/concept? What could we do better? Thanks!

Some of you may know me as a freelance developer and the founder of BugMuncher, but my primary passion in life is actually music. I've recently decided to have a go at making some money from my music by submitting songs to Audio Jungle. So far I've only submitted 2 songs, but both were approved for sale first time, so I guess I'm doing something right :) My second submission is a song I wrote specifically with tech start-ups' landing page videos in mind: http://audiojungle.net/item/introducing-success/3581039 Hopefully it can find a home on someone's landing page :)

I've just launched a landing page for an ebook that I hope to have out sometime in June but I feel like that dog in the meme "I have no idea what I'm doing."[1] I am not a designer (or copywriter) but I've been hanging out on HN long enough to have a good idea where to go for help. I used Bootstrap[2] for a template, Colour Lovers[3] for a palette and Weebly's homepage[4] for inspiration. Weebly's homepage is fantastic but as much as I tried to keep it simple and powerful, like Weebly, I kept getting bogged down in massive amounts copy. I think this is probably where I need to most help.…

Hi everyone, This is the new landing page for OpenLoopz: https://openloopz.com/welcome It’s based on the excellent feedback I received from the original post. I know it’s far from perfect and there is still a lot of material I haven’t had time to add yet, but it’s a start. I plan to iterate and improve on this over time as I learn more about marketing and promotion. I hope it gets the message across about what OpenLoopz is and why you might want to use it! I will be adding more pages soon, such as testimonials, pricing info, FAQ, use cases, etc, and more detail in general.…

Hey HN, My co-founders and I have been working on a project for the last month or so, and we'd like to get your input on it. We wanted to hear your thoughts on what we're doing - so check out our landing page, and let us know what you think/understand. Does it sounds like something you guys would want to use? http://www.thesharedweb.com/alpha/intro We'll tell you guys more about exactly what we're doing as the conversation evolves, but we just wanted to see what the initial reaction is, and what you understand (i.e. are we describing it in a way that makes sense). Really excited to hear your…

A buddy and I decided to hack on this little project this weekend, putting in about 12 hours. It's running Ruby on Rails, deployed to Heroku. We tried to keep things super lean with different gems handling user accounts, mailchimp for an email list and super lean styling/layout. Everything should work well enough on mobile devices, too, so give it a look! Right now the magic all happens via the Soundcloud API (of course), but we're exploring different ways to make this appeal to a broader audience of music listeners. We'd love your feedback! Here's the site:…

Hello HN, www.LandingGear.me is designed specifically for building single page landing pages. Our first MVP got a good response with a few hundred people visiting and downloading templates. So we've taken it to the next level of development, added more features and functions and added an option to pay. We're now wanting to get a little more validation and feedback. Would you mind please having a look and posting your feedback here? thanks! Anton Winter

Hey guys, I put together a site that has services and products that would be useful for startups and small businesses at http://www.startupoffers.net/ Right now there is very little content (deals/offers) but I am trying to validate the idea before I spend the next few days entering data. Let me know what you think about: - the concept itself - the site look/feel PS: monetization strategy is through affiliate links and if I get enough email signups I can potentially sell newsletter ads. PPS: There is a chicken/egg problem here, if I get enough subscribers, I can…

We hatched this idea of a Kickstarter + Groupon + Etsy model last week, threw up a super simple landing page that day, then launched a more detailed landing page last night. What do you think of the idea as a whole? The landing page itself? Since the Etsy / crafting world is so large and diverse, we're really trying to focus on the sharing of our site to get the word out. We are doing some minimal google ads and will be doing various tests to see what brings in the best traffic and converts the best. Interestingly enough, good old fashioned twitter searching with hand authored tweets has had…

We knew we were going to get a bunch of press today after releasing the news of closing our round -- so we decided to build a custom landing page for folks coming from the publications that ran stories about us. (You can see it here: edulender.com/march8. Our normal home page is here: edulender.com/) We will publish some summary stats here in an update in the next day or two -- but we'd like to know what y'all think about this method. Wise or unwise? Enlighten us.

Hi, I spent the last couple of months developing OurClubFundraiser(http://www.ourclubfundraiser.com) and launched it about two weeks ago.I would love to get some feedback from the HN community on how I could improve the site and tweak the concept. Since launching I have found that: 1) I am not getting enough visits(Average around 5 a day) 2) Any of the visits I do get are not converting. I am working on 1) and will hopefully be able to dramatically increase the number of visits over the next few weeks. I could really do with some third party perspectives on point 2. 1)Is the concept not…

Hey guys, I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my new site that I have put into private beta this weekend. In summary it is a site for photographers, graphic designers and web designers to get private feedback on their work. There are plenty of sites out there were we can post our work and get it seen but sometimes you need to be able to get some feedback before having it on a public display. This is part 1 of the longer term plan. The beta has the basics to enable users to review each others work, the number of images are limited at the minute but I will be extending…

Hey all, Well after months of hard work (and even more months of dreaming about doing this), I've finally got around to finishing something I've started. :D http://dropsauce.com It's a file upload service where you upload your files into named drops. Sure, this is pretty much similar to some sites you may have seen before and although the internet is saturated with upload services, I still made this more as a learning experience for myself. Hopefully you find some unique value to it and easy to use. If not, check the http://dropsauce.com/faq If it becomes successful, great, I'll continue…

We're launching http://getgush.com next week. We've been working on this for 6 months, and we'd LOVE to get your feedback before we launch. Please be cruel. It's a photo site for ALL your photos: every single photo you've ever taken. We still have a long way to go, but trying to launch really early. You can create an account (hacker news members only) here: http://getgush.com/i/17p6 Cruel feedback > nice feedback > no feedback.

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time (non-comment) submission. I've been working on homebrewvault.com (mostly nights) for what seems like forever. I'm just about finished with the core product and am almost ready to do some promotion. I've always followed the "Show HN" submissions because they seem to produce really valuable feedback. So before I take the plunge, I'd love to hear what you guys think. I'm also going with the "if you aren't embarrassed by your first release, you aren't releasing early enough" philosophy I first learned of here. For a little more background: As a homebrewer of…

Hey all, I created http://cueued.com that works as a remote for a collaborative spotify queue where the users can upvote and downvote music they want to hear next. Only the person who is playing the music needs to have spotify premium! And if you're far from your friends (and have premium) and want to listen together, you can go to the settings and click Connect to Room, and you all can listen to the same music remotely. Let me know what y'all think about it, and any improvements as well. And if anyone's interested in how I built it let me know as well.

I was lucky enough to have my site trending on Friday (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25872922). It’s an icon site that lists open source icons. I wanted to share some stats on the results after 3 days. Worth noting was that I submitted it on a Friday morning (at which point I went for a walk and a coffee; eek). - 24,997 page views. I (embarrassingly) didn’t have GA set up when I first submitted it, so this is probably missing a few hundred page views - 21 “feedback” emails (half of which were spam). I assume such a high percentage of these were spam because my Feedback…

Having read several comments in other threads about frustrations with digital music and streaming, I thought this could potentially be interesting to some of you. It's a very small attempt at bringing back an experience that we seemingly lost when going fully digital. When I was looking around whether something like this already existed, I could only find some commercial (and discontinued) attempts, but nothing based on open standards. So I made a draft of what I think an open single-file music album format could look like. It is very simple, and basically just a specification of how to…

Hi there, So a buddy a couple of days ago came up with the idea for a new SaaS product regarding gpt and image generation. We did a quick MVP that barely works, it breaks almost 50% of the time but we still wanted to validate the idea before going all in. We have almost 1k followers on Twitter together. Did a quick post describing the idea with a stripe link in the comments with a 5$ value, no landing page, and no shipped product. In exchange, the buyers become beta users. Around 30 mins later we got our first sale next 30 mins another 5$ and so on. Do we consider the idea validated? The…

I know mentioning Michael Seibel is almost cheating, but this week he demonstrated the "leaky pipes" concept to me. Not that I know the guy, but in one of his videos he says something on the lines of "If you are unsure if you app is ready to be launched, just launch it. It's like a house with leaky pipes, just open the main, grab your tools, and start fixing wherever water is leaking". So we did it, we launched drummy earlier this week on /r/InternetIsBeautiful and we got very close to 10k users in just one day! Survived the hug of death, learned a ton, and made changes all around.…
