Products that do what Project management and collaboration app for agencies does
This is an app to easily manage a workload of multiple projects and to ease collaboration between teams. We built it on weekends whilst running our agency and it’s still very much in development. I’m posting it because I’m interested on what HNers think we should focus on next: * A ‘client view’ of each project? * Project level permissions to allow freelancers to access particular projects? * Estimates vs Actuals – see how they compare and use this data to predict future delivery times. You can sign up for a free lifetime account at the moment. Please comment if you have any feedback or…

Hello HN! I got pretty overwhelmed with Notion, Trello, etc. (Even though they are great tools!) as an indie dev, so I built an app that is simpler to use and perfectly suited for an indie like me :) You can basically divide your projects into multiple milestones (a milestone could be e.g. a new version), and the milestones can have multiple tasks that are either todo, in progress, or done. The progress for each milestone is calculated with those tasks, and you can also prioritize and categorize the tasks using tags (E.g. for me, #ph turns into "High Priority", and #pm into "Medium…

Howdy HN, As a small side project, I built a small app to share weekly time schedules. It's been useful for me to help schedule meeting and share semester schedules with friends. I hope some others find some use with it. I have a few more simple ideas to implement with it, and any suggestions are encouraged. Thank you!

We got tired of not being able to accurately answer "When will this be done?" and "Will anyone be required to work overtime on the current schedule?", or spending too much time in meetings and standups trying to answer those questions. Just opened up for beta. Would love some opinionated developers to guide future improvements (or feedback on the general idea).

Hey HN, We've just launched our team collaboration platform where we're bringing together all the important tools under one app. We've been frustrated in the past with tools which had a huge disconnect between projects and chat. It always inevitably leads to teams using external chat apps for "project management" and then abandoning the main tools altogether. We're creating tools we hope teams will stick with. Super integrated Chat. Convert comments to tasks and have them auto added to project boards. Automations to help massively reduce burden on the team. Workflows, Time-Off and so much…

A friend and I built this as a side project to help us collaborate on files with our agents. Claude / Codex kept outputting .md and .html files which are great until we needed to share them, so we built this small website to help with that. Agent can either use an HTTP + Skill or an MCP which also uses MCP Apps to add widgets to Claude Desktop / Mobile chat. Would love any feedback and hopefully this helps someone else as it did us!

Hi there! I made this tool called Finish UP to help me do exactly that with my personal projects and work tasks. I found that I had a few problems that cross-cut the majority of my projects: 1. I have loads of new ideas for projects, or tasks to do like learning German, but I do not always know where to start 2. I open a kanban board and then do not know what type of tasks to start with, how detailed they should be, or to what extent they can overlap 3. I started using ChatGPT and equivalents to help me ideate and put in place initial plans, but as soon as I asked questions about certain…

Hey HN, I kept seeing the same question asked over and over in startup communities: "What tech stack should I use for my SaaS?" The answers were always scattered, opinionated, and never accounted for budget or team size. So I built appstackbuilder.com — you tell it your monthly budget, app type, team size, and skill level, and it recommends a full stack (auth, database, hosting, payments, analytics, etc.) with actual pricing for each tool. A few things that make it different from generic advice: - It accounts for team size when calculating costs (e.g. Clerk charges per user, Linear charges…

Hello! I just wanted to drop in to let you know about a new platform I’m developing that I think could benefit you. I was finding that the mediums I was searching to find freelance work (Twitter, freelance job sites, etc) weren’t really providing me with projects that matched my interests or skill set AND it is a lot of work to find projects through these mediums. My vision is to create a freelance job market that will make it easy for freelancers and people looking for some freelance work to find the perfect partnership by adding a human element to the process (that isn’t you combing…

I'm gauging interest for a service that would help connect devs/designers/copywriters with folks who have short term projects (a few days or weeks of work). The projects would range in value, but should ideally be at least a few $100. Through Forrst, there are already thousands of such people available to work, it's just a matter of if this is interesting to the other side. If it is, would you leave your info? Thanks a ton. Hey HN, This weekend I built an excel spreadsheet so that you can come up with your next (scalable) service idea. If you are a consultant / agency and are looking to move from to build a scalable business / valuable asset, this is for you! WHY I built this: - Many people want to start their business but can't find an idea - Many people build stuff / services that nobody want - Ideas are great but execution is what matters: See what others have done successfully, get inspired, and do your own thing! The framework is called the Productized Service Matrix. --- It features in…

Howdy, Hackers; dustball and I just launched a new web app called Prioritize My Work ( http://prioritizemywork.com ). We've been working on it off and on for about a month, and we figured it was time to share it with the world (i.e. you guys) and see what you thought. The basic pitch is that you've got a bunch of things to do and not enough time to do them all. You can use Prioritize My Work to build a todo list and then send it to your boss/client to let them arrange them, so you know what to work on first. Assuming you've got good time estimates, we even show you when you're going to run…

I'm documenting everything about my process. From learning to code, to building the app, and all the way to my outreach efforts. I'm learning as I go and sharing it with everyone who's not a programer, and is daunted to build a software on their own. Trust me. If I can do it, anyone can! You can find my updates on: https://Claritask.com ...as well as video updates on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdmqmifW4kIcPclXigay1dQ Would love to hear your feedback on my progress and if you have any suggestions on what I can do better. There's so many task managers out…

(Or really, any meeting that's more "download of information" than "let's collaborate") It's called All Hands, and we've launched today: https://allhands.app The idea is that instead of pressing the big red stop button on the side of your business every week in order to keep everyone up-to-date, you instead schedule in and pre-record the things they need to know. All Hands does the workflow part, lets you include other people (so it's easy to have different people presenting), makes recording easy (all in the browser, no extensions - MediaRecorder is cool!), and then does the…

Hello! For the last year I've been working on a side project, a booking management system. Among others, it allows anyone who owns a business that accepts bookings to manage them, to communicate with customers, to easily create a personalized website or to embed a calendar widget on any existing website. Link: https://www.planorio.com There is still a long way to go, but I feel that now it is ready for some very direct feedback. :) It mainly consists of an Angular frontend, a backend written in Node.js and some small tools written in PHP and Kotlin. I also created a hybrid mobile…

Almost a year ago, we got hundreds of feedback here from the HN community https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15732752 After months of hard work here we are with our new version. https://sievehq.com/ Sieve is a complete platform for running your freelance business without paying a percentage of your earnings.
