Hey HN! I built Transcrib.ee to help me generate transcripts for lectures on YouTube with no captions, especially multilingual lectures. I was constantly frustrated with videos that had no transcripts or inaccurate ones, so I built a tool and decided to share it with everyone. I found the manual process of downloading various YouTube assets painful so built a simple app to help myself and hopefully others. The app wraps up popular Python libraries (`yt-dlp, scrapetube, youtube-transcript-api`) and makes their functionality easier to use. Python and Docker versions are available.
