Products that do what The Universe in One Chart does
This is an interactive version of the mass-vs-radius chart from Lineweaver & Patel's "All Objects and Some Questions" (2023). It plots the scale of everything in the observable universe on a single log-log chart This was an experiment in extending the utility of a science infographic via hyperlinks, navigability and tooltips that detail the meaning of specific parts. There are likely still spatial/numerical issues, happy to take corrections. The original paper: https://pubs.aip.org/aapt/ajp/article/91/10/819/2911822/All-...

I was wondering how I can arrange objects along a spherical helix path, and read some articles on it. I ended up learning about parametric equations again, and make this visualization to document what I learned: https://visualrambling.space/moving-objects-in-3d/ feel free to visit and let me know what you think!

Hi! This is an infinite canvas note-taking tool where notes are laid out in a non-Euclidean, hyperbolic geometric space. As you drag and navigate through the view, you’ll experience a unique fluid distortion that naturally leverages your brain's spatial memory. I’ve been obsessed with the concept of space in HCI for years. Many modern UI patterns are essentially workarounds for the lack of screen real estate. While researching zoom-based UIs a while back, I stumbled upon old HCI papers that used the Poincaré disk model of the hyperbolic plane to organize data. It elegantly projects an…

Hi HN! I’ve spent the summer of the past 2 years building The Atlas, a procedural universe simulator that generates 1 sextillion galaxies (10²¹) from a single mathematical seed. Think No Man’s Sky meets theoretical physics, but running entirely in your browser. Everything is purely deterministic, the universe is calculated from SHA-256 hashed seeds using the golden ratio as primordial constant. There’s no database, no pre-saved data, just pure math. Time itself is treated as a coordinate, so the universe exists as a 4D structure where any moment can be computed on demand. Shut it down for…
