Hi Hacker News. Today, we're excited to launch Aircada, a lightweight browser based 3D design studio for creating interactive 3D content on the web. We remember using three.js back in 2010 before we had smart phones. And now 15 years later it feels like 3D on the web is finally starting to see the light of day. We use the beloved three.js under the hood - with WebGPU alongside the awesome node material system and TSL shader language. 1 minute demo video showing off what Aircada can do: https://youtu.be/hAJPnP93pfA Hop right into a template:…

Hey HN, Constantly toggling viewport sizes the other day finally tipped my personal annoyance/action threshold. The result is WINDED - a simple tool to help you simultaneously view how your website appears on different screen sizes without needing to constantly adjust the size of your browser window. With a 4K monitor, you can see every Tailwind breakpoint on a single screen! This is game-changing. Please let me know what you think!

This dashboard is a personal project I've developed to visualize every wind farm's energy production across Ireland. I'm trying to break into software development/data analytics sector and I wanted to build a project to practice my coding. I wanted to build a novel project rather than following along to a basic YouTube video project and not really learn anything. I'm interested in the renewable energy sector and after browsing the web noticed there isn't any public data on real time wind energy production in Ireland. I took the task onto myself to attempt to build a dashboard that…

Link : http://firstglitch.com/html_projects/sailboat/sail-gl.html This is a very rough simulation of a sail boat (2D wireframe), that you can sail using force of "wind" (modeled as a million particles, animated using webgl) striking on the sails. The position of the wind particles and the forces of the particles striking on the sails is computed in WebGL shaders. The forces are NOT re-calculated at each frame. Which might cause some artifacts. For example, the boat might start moving after the wind has passed, if you continue adjusting the rudder and sail angle. You…
