24 alternatives to Vertex.js – A 1kloc SPA Framework

Vertex is a 1kloc SPA framework containing everything you need from React, Ractive-Load and jQuery while still being jQuery-compatible. vertex.js is a single, self-contained file with no build step and no dependencies. Also exhibits the curious quality of being faster than over a decade of engineering at Facebook in some cases: https://files.catbox.moe/sqei0d.png

Vertex.js is a single-file SPA framework at 1 kilobyte of code that requires no build step or dependencies. It provides core functionality similar to React and jQuery while maintaining jQuery compatibility. Hey HN, I'm Nate, the creator of Tamagui. One is a React framework that does two things differently in hopes of simplifying how we build websites and apps: 1. It unifies React Native and React web with typed file system routing by making Vite able to serve RN. This lets you share (or diverge) your code in a simpler way for cross-platform apps. 2. We've partnered with Zero (https://zerosync.dev) to make local-first work well. We've been building a solution in One that makes Zero supporting server rendering, without waterfalls, and with seamless server/client handoff. ---…

Hi HN! Thanks for your attention to my post. It was a big challenge to run most of Node.js packages in browser, fast moreover. Virtual File system, resolve import/export. I got cold many times, depressions, burned out, yet still alive and finished it. Many guys helped me with an advice. Many users give a lot of positive feedback. There are 200,000 monthly unique users. I work full time now because of the freemium business model. To be honest - I am happy after many years of hard work.

Many JS libraries exist to build graphs on the web (Vega, chartJS, Plotly...). They allow to make charts quickly. But you lose flexibility: you're limited by the options they offer. I just created a gallery with hundreds of graphs made with d3.js and React. - Examples are split by graph types - They all come with explanation and code sandboxes - Gradual complexity to ease the learning curve It took me ages to create this project! Feedback welcome!

I was looking for a tiny library to easily transform both 2D & 3D objects with simple mouse / touch controls and a fixed camera, in the browser. Like a simple 3D editor but without requiring the user to be a Blender expert. Couldn't find anything lightweight, so I’m building one. Think Fabric.js but for 3D. Built entirely with Three.js / R3F. Borrowed some inspiration from VR/AR interaction systems for controls. Feel free to play with it and let me know what you think!

Hey everyone, I'm the original co-creator of RedwoodJS. (The framework that myself and Tom Preston-Werner, Rob Cameron and David Price built during Covid.) I had tried to build a developer tool startup (Snaplet), and failed. I rejoined the efforts to add RSC to Redwood, but I realized that we needed a much simpler framework that was closely tied to a platform (We chose Cloudflare). We started building RedwoodSDK a year ago and this is the result. An insanely simple stack. I am incredibly proud of this work, please star our repo and let me know if there's anything that doesn't resonate with…

Hey HN, I'd like to share a fun project I've been working on: mizu.js. It's a js library that add functional attributes support into your html, designed to be a simple and flexible alternative to fully-fledged web frameworks (such as Vue, React, and Angular), while offering more capabilities than other lightweight options (like Alpine.js and htmx). As it's written using modern ES features and due to its isomorphic nature, it can be run in both browsers and runtimes (Node, Deno, Bun) without any changes. This makes it ideal for client-side and server-side rendering, as well as static site…

Hi HN! I created this lib in the need of a simple and tiny framework to easily do AJAX-style navigation / replacement of fragments in the page, in a web application. For people who don't want to use client-side-rendering and complex frameworks à la React, there are nowadays a few "HTML-over-the-wire" libraries, like HTMX, Unpoly or this super-tiny one Swap.js :) One other key thing is that no external tool is needed: no bundler, no webpack, no TypeScript compiler, no minification needed. Just write HTML, JS (+ your preferred server-side language: PHP, Python, etc.) and it works. The…

I built µJS because I wanted AJAX navigation without the verbosity of HTMX or the overhead of Turbo. It intercepts links and form submissions, fetches pages via AJAX, and swaps fragments of the DOM. Single tag, one call to `mu.init()`. No build step, no dependencies. Key features: patch mode (update multiple fragments in one request), SSE support, DOM morphing via idiomorph, View Transitions, prefetch on hover, polling, and full HTTP verb support on any element. At ~5KB gzipped, it's smaller than HTMX (16KB) and Turbo (25KB), and works with any backend: PHP, Python, Go, Ruby, whatever.…
