Products that do what VimCompletesMe, my first Vim plugin for Tab Completion does
I made this because I was using SuperTab and noticed that it uses a lot more code when I wanted something really simple: for Vim to intelligently choose what to autocomplete for me. Maybe it has more features but to me, it tried to do too much in a single plugin. So my goal here was to made a dead-simple, minimalistic Tab completion plugin. It does this with less than 60 lines of source code, compared to around 800 for Supertab. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Hello guys, I wanted to get your feedback on my recent project : it aims to unify Vim configuration by aggregating some common plugins in order to provide an easy-to-use « package ». It's called vimified : https://github.com/zaiste/vimified The idea was to make it simpler than Janus (e.g. vundle instead of submodules et al.); it is also somehow similar to spf13-vim. What do you think? Thanks!

So, I'm learning VIM and made this yesterday, I pretend to increment it as I learn new stuff. You move with HJKL and that's it for now. Don't let the sublimes consume you. http://worms.io/vimwarrior/

I have been a devoted vim user for almost 3 decades and frankly it has served me well! Yes I do get tempted to try out the next best thing (though Zed has some serious names so am even more tempted). But frankly something about staying in the terminal that I am just too used to and dont want to change. Though I never bothered updating the vimrc often (did 4 "major" updates in those years) I found myself wanting to update my vimrc for vimspector. This time instead of again trying to understand vimscript and reading the various docs, I let claude code on it and dang it has been a fun journey…

Vim has tons of small, ingenious features and is capable of many smart hacks. Most of them might be relevant... once in a while. But „once in a while” means that when the time comes I won't remember they are available, or how to actually use them. Remembering Clippy[0], I have written a snippet for .vimrc that gives me a random advice (hint / feature / hack) when starting vim. It is not certain that I will need it here and now, but at least I will refresh my memory, and maybe I will be tempted to try it and internalize it during the session. Many (at least half) of the hints are…
