Woxi is an interpreter for the Wolfram Language written in Rust. It comes with Woxi Studio, a Mathematica-like GUI built with iced, but you can also use Woxi through a CLI, Jupyter kernel, Python package, npm package, or WASM module. Compared with wolframscript / Mathematica, the main differences are: - Free and open source - Very fast startup - Typically milliseconds rather than seconds for the Wolfram kernel, making Woxi practical for shell scripts, one-liners, and other short-lived processes - Embeddable - It can run in a browser via WASM or be embedded into another application as a…

So i've been working on this project since a few days (or months i should say), it's called wyzer (meaning wiser) it's a statically typed, compiled, resource-oriented programming language with integrated distributed safety via choreographic programming and perceus memory model, The reason why i began this project is out of frustration from Rust, you see it does provide safety for your memory by the strict type checking but what it does not gurantee safety against are distributed deadlocks which is basically a few independent nodes or services wait permanently for resources or messages held…

Hi HN, I've become lazier in my old age and struggle to replay my favorite Sierra games from the 80s and 90s because I keep getting into those situations where I need an item from 3 acts ago, I have no save game handy, and now I gotta make dinner. So I'm building the Lucasartsifier: a static analysis tool that decompiles Sierra resource files, automatically finds those states, automatically generates code to prevent the player from getting into those states, then emits loose patch files that can be placed alongside the original game resources. There's no game-specific code involved; all the…

PicoMQ is a Rust server for Durable Streams, built on Object Store. Cheap, URL-addressable, granular streams (create/append/read/long-poll/SSE), with Pico Protocol or Durable Streams Protocol as the facade. S3Stream is the stream storage primitive, used in AutoMQ, shipped as a Rust library. Coordination is a command log in Postgres.

Hey HN! I built Typebase, a library that gives you Convex's DX with Supabase's openness. After trying Supabase I liked how fast it is to spin up a DB and auth, but really didn't like using RLS and SQL for authorization. With Convex I loved how your server "lives" in your code, but disliked the DB model and the realtime-first defaults. With Typebase you just write TS files inside a typebase/ folder in your existing repo. You can define your DB tables inside a schema.ts file and export server functions that your frontend calls like local functions, fully typed. Auth is built in. Then one…

Most color palettes collapse if you've got a strong redshift/nightshift color filter actively suppressing green and blue channels. I made one that doesn't. Ember has terminal, chart, heatmap, and UI palettes designed and tested to be as distinguishable as possible under both the redshift & non-redshift condition... so no more duplicate color appearances (or worse yet, disappearing colors!).

LuaCAD models solids in Lua rather than the OpenSCAD language, with operator overloading for CSG (`a + b`, `a - b`, `a * b`). It ships with a CLI and a desktop app, including a preview area and a text editor. I've always been a big fan of OpenSCAD, but the SCAD language itself is unfortunately quite cobbled-together and is a very poorly designed programming language. LuaCAD takes all the good parts of OpenSCAD and combines them with one of the best scripting languages. It has now completely replaced OpenSCAD for me, and I think it provides a better experience than OpenSCAD for all use cases.…
