Cleaning up game asset folders pre GoDot import
AssetForge launched on May 27, 2026 with 2 votes, #6,288 of 20,538 launches that month.
What it does
A browser-based tool for checking messy game asset folders before bringing them into a Godot project. It lets you drag in files or folders, then flags things like unsupported formats, duplicate names, spaces/casing issues, missing tags, large files, and generates Godot-style res:// paths. It can also export a simple manifest.json and import_notes.md. It’s still a beta, so I’m mainly looking for feedback from people who’ve dealt with messy sprite/audio/model folders.

I've been working on an MMORPG that is now in alpha as a solo developer. Here are the major open source technologies that I use: Blender - 3D modeling software for creating the overall environment and every game object. I've gotten a lot of CC and Public Domain assets from https://poly.pizza GLTF - I export assets from blender to the GLTF asset format JSON - I write a JSON config for every game object that describes things like its name, its interactions, its collisions, etc. Node.js exporter - I iterate over the environment and every asset to create a scene hierarchy. I use…
Claude Code skills that build complete Godot gamesMar 2026 · github.com · ▲337I’ve been working on this for about a year through four major rewrites. Godogen is a pipeline that takes a text prompt, designs the architecture, generates 2D/3D assets, writes the GDScript, and tests it visually. The output is a complete, playable Godot 4 project. Getting LLMs to reliably generate functional games required solving three specific engineering bottlenecks: 1. The Training Data Scarcity: LLMs barely know GDScript. It has ~850 classes and a Python-like syntax that will happily let a model hallucinate Python idioms that fail to compile. To fix this, I built a custom…

WebAssembly runtime embedded in Godot game engine2023 · github.com · ▲32A WebAssembly runtime embedded in Godot game engine projects. Interact with Wasm modules from GDScript. Accessing Wasm modules via GDScript provides the following benefits. - Sandboxed environment allows safely loading zero-trust mods/extensions to a project. - Single target means that Wasm modules can be built from any language e.g. Rust, Go, AssemblyScript and the single binary can be run on all platforms. - Fast execution compared to GDScript allows for offloading compute-heavy operations or running bots/mods/etc. at high FPS. This might be useful for loading mods, bot AI,…
Ziva.sh Feb 2026 · ziva.sh · ▲82Hey everyone! Wanted to show off a little side project I've been working on. A lot of people have been using AI to one-shot games, but they're often quite buggy - glitchy graphics, collisions aren't setup, or regressions in earlier levels. With an AI playtester in the loop, I've been able to one-shot games like Candy Crush or Crossy Road that would previously have bugs like cut-off UIs or stuck retries. The way it works basically goes like this: 1/ The playtester starts by reading the code to understand what its parent AI is asking it to play, and to decide what breakpoints, hooks and…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
