CeLLama – Single cell annotation with local LLMs
A simple R package which helps with annotation of single cell experiments such as single cell RNA-seq. With up and down regulated genes per cell cluster, the local LLM guesses the cell type annotation and creates an overall extensive report.

In plain words
CeLLama is an R package designed for biologists and researchers conducting single cell RNA-seq experiments. It automates cell type annotation by analyzing up and down regulated genes within each cell cluster, using a local large language model to predict cell types and generate comprehensive reports. The tool runs locally, eliminating external dependencies, and streamlines the annotation workflow for single cell studies.

ChatLLaMA – A ChatGPT style chatbot for Facebook's LLaMA2023 · chatllama.baseten.co · ▲402ChatLLaMA is an experimental chatbot interface for interacting with variants of Facebook's LLaMA. Currently, we support the 7 billion parameter variant that was fine-tuned on the Alpaca dataset. This early versions isn't as conversational as we'd like, but over the next week or so, we're planning on adding support for the 30 billion parameter variant, another variant fine-tuned on LAION's OpenAssistant dataset and more as we explore what this model is capable of. If you want deploy your own instance is the model powering the chatbot and build something similar we've open sourced the Truss…
Embedding Atlas2025 · apple.github.io · ▲150Hey HN, we're happy to release Mycelium, a JavaScript library for creating graph visualizations of machine learning models or any other directed acyclic graphs. Mycelium powers the graph viewer of the Talaria [0] a research model visualization and optimization system, which was used to optimize the efficiency of Apple Foundation Models [1]. Everything works entirely on the client-side in the browser — we provide a rudimentary ONNX loader out of the box, which you can try by dragging model files into our website. It is also simple to define loaders for your own model formats. The library was…
WhatsApp-Llama: A clone of yourself from your WhatsApp conversations2023 · github.com · ▲124Hello HN! I've been thinking about the idea of a LLM thats a clone of me - instead of generating replies to be a helpful assistant, it generates replies that are exactly like mine. The concept's appeared in fiction numerous times (the talking paintings in Harry Potter that mimic the person painted, the clones in The Prestige), and I think with LLMs, there might actually be a possibility of us doing something like this! I've just released a fork of the facebookresearch/llama-recipes which allows you to fine-tune a Llama model on your personal WhatsApp conversations. This adaptation can…
- CDCancer diagnosis makes for an interesting RL environment for LLMsNov 2025 · ▲46
Hey HN, this is David from Aluna (YC S24). We work with diagnostic labs to build datasets and evals for oncology tasks. I wanted to share a simple RL environment I built that gave frontier LLMs a set of tools that lets it zoom and pan across a digitized pathology slide to find the relevant regions to make a diagnosis. Here are some videos of the LLM performing diagnosis on a few slides: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7ixTWswT5c): traces of an LLM choosing different regions to view before making a diagnosis on a case of small-cell carcinoma of the lung…
SwiftAI – open-source library to easily build LLM features on iOS/macOS2025 · github.com · ▲74We built SwiftAI, an open-source Swift library that lets you use Apple’s on-device LLMs when available (Apple opened access in June), and fall back to a cloud model when they aren’t available — all without duplicating code. SwiftAI gives you: - A single, model-agnostic API - An agent/tool loop - Strongly-typed structured outputs - Optional chat state Backstory: We started experimenting with Apple’s local models because they’re free (no API calls), private, and work offline. The problem: not all devices support them (older iPhones, Apple Intelligence disabled, low battery, etc.). That…

Many years ago, I made VJ softwares (to mix live visuals in clubs) for unexpected platforms like the Game Boy Advance, the Playstation 2 and the Raspberry Pi. This year, I’m back with a new web-app: Pikimov. Inspired by Photopea (a free Photoshop clone), I created this web-based motion design & video editor as an alternative to After Effects, to fill empty void. It's free, without signup, without cloud uploads (your files stay on your machine), and your projects are not used for AI models training.
