Products that do what I used DallE to create default avatars on my Creator community website does
I'm an indie dev and I built a community for creators to get together and collaborate with each other. Mostly for amateur creators, but some famous ones use it as well. It has about 700k users so far. There are about 100k of those users who don't bother to upload an avatar, so they've had a boring default avatar for nearly 7 years. Today, I used my credits on DallE to do make them a bit more fun. Since the creators self-identify, I was able to create specific kinds of avatars for them. For example, if a creator is a writer, my DallE prompt would be: "an oil painting portrait of a…

hi all, I've always wanted to make my own game, but couldn't afford a thousand-dollar adobe (flash+photoshop) license. I'm not a talented programmer, have no degree in CS. But I understand some elements of design. So I got me a copy of ImpactJS, and after about 5 months of steep learning curve (at least for me), I managed to come up with a game. I also integrated it with a highscore and badge system, similar to what you get at Kongregate. You need to login with Google/OpenID to earn badges/scores. link is: http://www.hotbazooka.com/privatejoe hope to hear some feedback/questions from you guys!

Hey there! I'm Sami. Over the past year, I've been busy building apps for clients, and I always found it challenging to discover a great animated component library. So, I took it upon myself to learn how to create beautiful animations. It was tough at first, but with persistence and a lot of practice, I eventually started crafting some really impressive animations for my clients! Now, I'm excited to share some of my favorite creations with you on my platform, DynaUI. I'd love to hear what you think!

Hello everyone, I doubt this would be relevant to the kind of person who uses HN, but I thought I could share for some feedback. I built this site because there is a whole world of people who believe in new age spirituality and I am very much one of them. It is a site where you get the users gender their goals and their images and use AI and psychology to generate images of them in the process of achieving their goals. I am so deeply struggling with how to get this highly on Google. I don't even know if that is important anymore. What are your suggestions with distribution and getting in…

Think Notepad, but with goats! It started as a joke with some friends and then I realized this was the perfect project to see far I could get with Claude without opening my IDE (which I'd wanted to try for a while with a small app) I was pretty shocked to find that I only needed to manually intervene for: 1. Initializing the repo 2. Generating sprites - I tried a few image gen tools, but couldn't get a non-messy looking sprite to generate to my liking. I ended up using some free goat sprites I found instead (credited in the About section) 3. Uploading images/sprite sheets (raw claude…

Hey HN! Software engineer here. As an amateur youtuber, I've been struggling with thumbnails, especially since I don't have any design or editing skills. Decided to give it a try and make my own automatic thumbnail generator. Me being an ADHD person, made sure that there's no parameter tuning and shape choosing and fuss like that, just simply give prompt and generate thumbnail. Increased my CTR from 1.2% to 2.3% (faceless fantasy books niche on youtube) Thumbnail X (completely free for now) - https://thumbnailx.com/ Just wanna add that this is by no means a perfect thumbnail…

Hi, looking for your feedback on my first public project. The Idea: Every lurepet (big picture) that you see on the site has some "genes" and is drawn according to them. After the best lurepets are selected they can be bred to make children looking like their parents. This is going to be repeated to create more and more beautiful lurepets. And of course the reason to vote is to save the future humanity that is attacked by evil robots which has the only flaw - insane obsession with lurepets :) Implementation: The drawing logic which is 99% of all the logic, is written in Clojure. I'm very…

Hi, I'm learning to keep things simple. I'm on startup no. 2 and have just put up a sign-up and twitter page. For the twitter page I needed a profile pic or logo of some sort so I've hacked together a little logo using unicode characters. Have a look: https://twitter.com/#!/TheSuperOwl I think it looks quite cute, it's a temporary thing until we get a designer on board. The 2 founders are not designers (product person & developer) so we don't want this to hold us back with getting things going. It's quite fun - I think we can play around with the unicode characters in the meantime. For…

Just wanted to share with you something I built. If you’re a creator or someone who financially supports creators, this will be of interest to you. Qufro.com is a site where creators can monetise their fan interactions. It works this way: A creator sets an amount for answering fan questions. A fan posts a question or a comment and is only charged if the creator responds. From the fan’s perspective, we’re solving the following problem: Not all fans want to commit to a monthly subscription (e.g., on Patreon) to support their favourite creators. With Patreon, ko-fi, etc., there is also no…

Like others, I am blown away by DALL-E's ability to accelerate the creative process. With just a single day of concentration and fiddling with the prompt tool, I was able to fully illustrate a book of knock-knock jokes. After one more day of fiddling with trims and bleeds, I had it published on Amazaon: https://www.amazon.com/Dorky-Dads-Knock-Book-Vegetables/dp/B... The prompting of DALL-E, like any tool, took a bit of learning. My take-aways using it were: - The four variations initially generated are rarely enough. The variations can be quite diverse, and a better…

Hey HN, I've been wanting to start this project for a long time, ever since I read an article about collaborative transformation of blob images[1], and I'm hoping it will take off here as I'm curious to see how it can grow. Here's how it works: - My website is available at https://chaospixels.com. You can find its code in the `src` directory of the linked repository. - Every day, I'll review all the open PRs (Pull Requests) and calculate a PR score based on the number of thumbs-up on the PR's opening comment. - The PR with the highest score will be merged and deployed. - Afterward,…

I recently quit my job at a decent TTS company I was working for as a software developer advocate to pursue what I have always enjoyed doing, which is creating software that is helpful. Before and after quitting my job, I have always found it expensive and time-consuming to hire a designer that can come up with a decent logo for my software, and as a software engineer, I really enjoy coding, not designing. One day, I made a pretty bold move to design a logo, and it took me a whole day to come up with a logo that looks nice. This is the reason I built Owl AI, a logo generator that generates…

To keep busy over the weekend, I decided to build a small AI Art collection site .... and ended up building an amusingly enjoyable AI art buying web-game where you basically collect beautiful AI art using virtual (not real) dollars. Enjoy => https://yoomter.com

Been in the AI image gen space since 2023, before even GPT image gen was a thing, and after spending ~9K on Facebook ads for my own projects (made a video about that actually) I realized the thing I kept getting stuck on was the creatives themselves. I'm horrible at making reels-type video ads and Canva even with templates is surprisingly complicated for ad-specific stuff, plus everything ends up looking the same as everyone else using the same templates. Made a video going into detail about the full FB ads journey if anyone's interested:…
