Recently I was reading about new research on Snack Exercises and how beneficial mini workouts of less than 2mins every so often, during the day are to our body. So, I decided to build an iOS App for me and others to help with this. The app generates a list of exercises that I need to tick to complete daily or loose my streak. The algorithm takes into account muscle groups and balancing the exercises to hit most main muscles. I also stayed going through all…

Hey Everyone, Today marks a big day for the team at MuscleWiki. We launched the workout generator, using our huge custom dataset of exercises, videos and text, we optimized so users are able to generate millions of unique workout combinations. These aren't just dumb workouts either, anyone with a lick of python can generate millions of workouts. The hard thing to do is generate the 1 workout that you want. The team painstakingly programmed and mapped science based set recommendations and fatigue into those results based on user selection. There are still a few bugs we are working out, but…

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been building a timer web app for myself that I use for workout and stretching sessions. My main use-case is gym routines that consist of repeatable sequences, e.g. where you are holding certain positions for a set time (rinse and repeat). The app counts down the program, beeps, and reads the activities out loud. Two things (I suppose) are special about it: - The timers are “programmable”, so you can freely express your own routines and procedures in a declarative notation. - The app is all static (no backend): the entire program is encoded in the URL and…
