Domains of Transcendence

An idle cosmic simulator with exponential tree progression

What it does

Domains of Transcendence try to flip the genre by combining abstract cosmic simulation with complex, unfolding upgrade tree. It stands out by matching exponential mathematical scaling with pre-generated AI visual content - allowing a solo dev to deliver a full experience. - Multi-layered prestige system that reshapes gameplay - Cosmic resources: Strings, Concepts, and Singularity - Built for Android

An incremental sci-fi game grounded in theoretical physics, 1D vibrating energy strings, and cosmic transcendence.

An incremental cosmic simulation inspired by real scientific theories and discoveries. From singularity to superstring harmonics and thermodynamic ascension, know the fundamental forces and transcend space-time. The player is the conscious orchestration layer of reality itself. Beginning as a raw singularity, the player uses energy, matter, laws of physics, consciousness, civilization, and dimensional structures to advance toward transcendence into higher-dimensional realities. To provide an educational and entertaining experience, every generator and upgrade draws inspiration from real physics, chemistry, biology, and astrophysics, accompanied by educational scientific facts and conceptual…from domainsoftranscendence.com

    The Atlas – I Built a 3D Universe Simulation with Python and Three.jsSep 2025 · github.com · ▲8

Hi HN! I’ve spent the summer of the past 2 years building The Atlas, a procedural universe simulator that generates 1 sextillion galaxies (10²¹) from a single mathematical seed. Think No Man’s Sky meets theoretical physics, but running entirely in your browser. Everything is purely deterministic, the universe is calculated from SHA-256 hashed seeds using the golden ratio as primordial constant. There’s no database, no pre-saved data, just pure math. Time itself is treated as a coordinate, so the universe exists as a 4D structure where any moment can be computed on demand. Shut it down for…

    AGI Hits a Structural Wall – A Billion-Dollar Problem2025 · ▲8

This paper formally defines where current AGI hits a structural wall — not a technical one. It shows that no amount of scaling, reinforcement learning, or recursive optimization will break through three deep epistemological and formal constraints: 1. Semantic Closure — An AI system cannot generate outputs that require meaning beyond its internal frame. 2. Non-Computability of Frame Innovation — New cognitive structures cannot be computed from within an existing one. 3. Statistical Breakdown in Open Worlds — Probabilistic inference collapses in environments with heavy-tailed uncertainty.…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
