This is a free tool that helps you manage and visualize your credit card rewards across different categories. You can input the cards in your wallet and see how they complement each other, spot gaps in your setup, and also see the best card to use for a given merchant. I’m also a founder at OneCard, where we’re building a smart card that’ll eventually handle all of this automatically, routing each purchase to the best card in real-time. Would love feedback from the HN community!

Quick background: I used to code. Studied it in school, wrote some projects, but eventually convinced myself I wasn't cut out for it. Too slow, too many bugs, imposter syndrome — the usual story. So I pivoted, ended up as an investment associate at an early-stage angel fund, and haven't written real code in years. Fast forward to now. I'm a Buffett nerd — big believer in compound interest as a mental model for life. I run compound interest calculations constantly. Not because I need to, but because watching numbers grow over 30-40 years keeps me patient when markets get wild. It's basically…

Hello, This is a portfolio optimizer I made to help select portfolios for my clients. I'm a personal financial adviser. I generally put my clients in a mix of low-fee index funds and ETFs and I use this to set an appropriate allocation based on the client's risk tolerance. I have been working on this as a side project to 1) improve the theoretical underpinnings of my investment recommendations and 2) improve my coding skills with frameworks like Vue and Torch. Here's the repository for the frontend: https://github.com/justinluther502/cashgraphfront. The frontend site is…

We built an RL environment for credit card reward optimization and trained Qwen 32B with GRPO against it. The trained model scores ~0.51 on held-out tasks vs. Opus 4 at ~0.41 and GPT-4o at 0.36. Environment is open source (Apache 2.0). Blog post explains the reward design, what broke during training, how we fixed it, and what we'd do differently.

Hello HN Viewers, So this all started when we got super frustrated trying to figure out payment fees. You know how it goes – you have got a bunch of payment providers, each with their own fee reports, and trying to make sense of all that mess is quite challenging and complex. We thought, why not just build something that pulls all those fee reports together, cleans them up, and makes them actually understandable? So we built a tool that pulls in fee reports from multiple providers, standardizes fee names, and makes it easier to understand all fee types. You can drill down to see the exact…

I built this because I see that grocery savings are achievable in NYC. People usually just go to the store they're used to going to, and it's rarely worth the effort of combing through card cashback, weekly coupons, CPG rebates. Most people leave real money on the table by not stacking them, and even more don't even know that these deals are out there.... so I built a way to automate it. You can use it for free, no login, currently NYC-only with ~690 stores. I built it so that you just search whatever you want (use commas if you want to search multiple items). Or - use the AI tool to help…
